kentucky photos from a real estate broker: The Murals at Roebling's Suspension Bridge - 10/22/08 03:11 PM
A little known treasure to even Northern Kentuckians are the fabulous murals located on the flood wall between the suspension bridge and Madison Pike in Covington, Ky. The murals where painted in 2002 by the Robert Dafford Company and were made possible by generous sponsors and donations. So, the next time your at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center or the Marriott or Embassy Suites, walk down towards the riverfront and take the 1/4 mile walk toward the suspension bridge. It's a walk through the history and heritage of Northern Kentucky with depictions of people like Simon Kenton, Daniel Boone, Danial Beard

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: Learning something new every week - Blended HDR photos - 07/26/08 11:22 PM
Of all the great things of learned on active rain I would have to say that better pictures has to be the one I have utilized the most. Until 6 months ago I was under the misconception that my property photos were excellent. That's, until I started reading about Pole Aerial Photography and HDR Photography. Here's my latest PAP and Blended HDR photos of a listing at 10271 Limerick Circle in Independence, Kentucky. Priced at $309,921. This shot was taken from the side walk on the opposite side of the street at about 30 ft height. The interior images where

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: Independence Day Parade from...... Independence KY - 07/25/08 10:15 AM
Everybody loves a parade and Independence does it up right. With a name like Independence you would have to think that "Independence Day" would have to spawn a celebration. For 2 days at the first of July this once sleepy little country town in the center of Kenton County puts on a festival celebration, parade and at all culminates in a 30 Minute fireworks display that seems like a perfect fit for creating all those 4th of July memories that your kids will remember forever.

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: My latest PAP (Pole Aerial Photos) for MLS - 07/24/08 09:31 PM
As I have just been introduced to pole aerial photography about two months ago I am still in the trial and error phase of producing better photos. Now, I find myself analyzing other MLS photos and saying to myself, "If they just would/could have........". The problem is, I'm doing it ALOT. I know now why many agents don't do virtual tour photos. From the looks of some of the still shots, they couldn't possibly take their own virtual tour shots and make them look presentable. Or, they don't want to pay for a photographer to do it for them. Now let me be

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: Pole Aerial Photography - My Rig - 05/13/08 03:57 PM
Not the ideal setup, but it seems to work OK. This is pretty much a 2 person rig. One to handle the pole and one to view the laptop screen and use the wireless remote. The Rebel XT does not have live view. A camera with live view would not require use of a laptop, only a small monitor. ( see Lee Jinks' rig here ) One person could easily handle the whole rig with a live view camera.

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: Pole Aerial Photo Comparison - 05/13/08 03:21 PM
I had such a satisfying experience with my first attempt at pole aerial photography I selected another subject in my listing inventory. No one was happy with this street level photo that we have been using for marketing. It was the best angle I could get without getting the camera higher off the ground. Pole Photo. Pole extended to about 30 Ft. Not to cheapen the effect in this subject property but now I can't wait to find a more dramatic subject, one where PAP makes a huge difference.

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: My First Pole Aerial Real Estate Photo - 05/12/08 11:27 PM
Ever since Lee Jinks introduced me to Pole Aerial Photography in his blog, I set out on a mission to undertake this ingenious method of making fantastic looking photos at a reasonable cost. It took awhile but I have compiled all the necessary accessories required to get 50 feet off the ground to get a better angle on the subject property. You can read all about Pole Aerial Photography and see many other examples far better than my first attempt in the Active Rain, Pole Aerial Photography Group. 1. Hasting Hot Sick - 60 ft. I found one were the bottom section had

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: My First Attempt at HDR Photography - 04/16/08 12:06 AM
I took these using a Kodak V570 on a tripod. I used Paint Shop Pro X2 for merging and tone mapping the images for HDR. The V570 has been dubbed the point and shoot camera of choice for real estate because of it's built in wide angle & telephoto, dual lens. It's simple to operate, under $150 and fits in my shirt pocket. I'm now using the Cannon Digital Rebel X as my camera but until I'm able to pick up a wide angel lens for the Cannon, I will continue to use the V570 for interior wide angel shots. I've been a Paint

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: Covington Kentucky River Front Photos - 04/10/08 11:32 PM
I took these last summer when my wife, son and I decided to stroll along Riverside Drive in Covington, Kentucky. The Covington riverfront has seen a resurgence of residential and commercial development. Riverfront Drive is a relatively small street and one of the only places in Covington with houses that actually face the Ohio river with unobstructed views of Cincinnati. I had the pleasure of participating in sale of one of these Riverside Drive homes a few years back. Completed in 1920, it was one of the newer houses on the block. It was reportedly Designed and started by Frank Duveneck. The origianl plans were said to be inspired from a New Orleans mansion that he

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: Sunrise Photos Easter Sunday - 03/27/08 01:41 PM
Some Northern Kentucky photos taken at sunrise on Easter Sunday 3/23/08 from Carter's Chapel United Methodist Church on Carter's Chapel Rd, Pendleton County, near Gardnersville, Kentucky. There's always something about attending an Easter sunrise service that's inspirational. Being the night owl that I am (usually blogging) I don't get to see to many sunrises. These Photos don't exactly capture the inspiration but I thought someone might enjoy seeing them. Check out my other Kentucky Photos from a real estate broker.

kentucky photos from a real estate broker: Spring Ahead? Near Record Snow fall in Kentucky 3/9/08 - 03/10/08 02:26 PM
It just didn't seem right turning the clocks back an hour in the middle of a snow storm. This "blizzard like" storm, with its 35-40 mph winds left 15 inches of snow on the ground over 30 hours as it moved through Northern Kentucky this past weekend. I long for Easter Flowers..... Check out my other Kentucky photos from a real estate broker.
