Are we in a buyer's market or a seller's market?

That is a question heard frequently by Real Estate Professionals, and it generates somewhat of a problem. Certainly there are some seasonal variances in the market. Late winter and early spring are generally times when there are a lot of buyers in the market. While mid-November through early January there are very few buyers.

The prevalence of a "Buyer's Market" versus a "Seller's Market" can vary greatly at any one given moment from one price range to another, from city to city, even from one neighborhood to the next. A primary question concerning market conditions and how they effect both buyers and sellers depends greatly on the number of homes on the market that are similar in size, style and price range to the home that you are looking to buy or offering for sale.

In order to truly know your market is going, you need to be able to weed out all of the other information that does not effect what you are trying to do in Real Estate. Take what you hear with a grain of salt. Around the water cooler, at the barbershop, from the evening news, these are all sources of information on the Real Estate Market but they are usually to general or mixed with opinion to be used as a basis for a decision to buy or to sell.

If you are looking for a home or thinking of selling your home, I'd be honored to provide you with current information on the market that would directly effect your decision to buy or to sell. One service that I offer to buyers is a daily e-mail with all of the new listings that have been added to the local Multiple List Service. This is a free, no-obligation service that I provide because I know that an informed client can make for themselves better decisions when it comes time to list or to write an offer. If you would be interested in receiving my New Listing E-mails, simple e-mail me or call 419-306-9853.
