pcs to fort meade: "Buying a house in another state is a special kind of crazy" - 01/10/17 07:13 AM
"Buying a house in State C while I am in State A and hubby is in State B is a special kind of crazy".
That was a status update on my Facebook feed the other day. As a human, I understood. As a mom, I felt compassion. But as a REALTOR®, I was puzzled - and a bit embarrassed - and ready to apologize on behalf of our professional community.
Relocating to another state and buying a house from afar doesn't have to be "crazy" or stressful or anxiety inducing. As long as you have found the right people to work with, it … (9 comments)

pcs to fort meade: Special delivery & client meet-up in Berlin, Germany - 01/05/15 07:40 PM
Every transaction is unique, every client special and every closing memorable. Sometimes our transactions are so unique that they turn into a career highlight and one for the story books!
2014 marked my 10th anniversary as a REALTOR® in the Silver Spring, MD area. How very fitting that I ended the year with one of these very unique transactions. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite Real Estate stories to share and will, no doubt, always stay with me as a highlight of my career.
Early November I made plans to travel to Germany to visit and attend to family matters. … (15 comments)

pcs to fort meade: "I don't take VA!" said the listing agent - 05/14/13 12:22 PM

"Sorry but I won't take a VA" was the first thing the listing agent said to me when I was trying to schedule a showing appointment for her listing in Columbia, MD. ???? Um. OK. At this point in time, I'm just trying to look at it.
Quite honestly, that comment rubbed me the wrong way - as a REALTOR® and as a military spouse. The eligibility for a VA loan is earned and many pay a dear price for it. I take great pride in helping military families who PCS to Fort Meade or WRNMMC Bethesda with their Real Estate needs … (35 comments)

pcs to fort meade: From showing to signed lease in 42 hours - 06/16/12 01:16 PM
From showing to signed lease in 42 hours - that's the way I like it!

As a military spouse Realtor® who lives and works in between two major military installations - WRNMMC Bethesda and Fort George G. Meade - I have the pleasure of assisting many military families who are PCS'ing to the area. When it comes to rentals, more often than not, things need to happen fast. Military families are either house-hunting from afar and sometimes rent sight unseen or need to have everything wrapped up while on house-hunting leave. Having to hunt down agents to get some answers … (2 comments)

pcs to fort meade: Winter in Central Maryland ... oh the memories - 02/12/12 01:43 PM
We are almost 2/3 through the 2011/2012 winter season and have yet to see snow in Central Maryland. Yes, we had a light dusting or 2 but not enough to get your snow suit out, put that shovel to good use and build a snowman. I have heard many complaints, from little munchkins in my house who really want to go sledding just "one time mommy" to newly relocated military families who have never "experienced a good snow storm". So, for all folks in Maryland and all who might be relocating here, this is what winter in Maryland can look like:
