zillow: Zillow's New Home Values Widget - 02/20/09 11:57 AM
It seems home values are on everyone's mind right now -- partly due to Obama's Housing Plan and the fact that mortgage rates are low and refinance activity is skyrocketing. Consumers are interested in market data and with the new Home Values Widget agents, brokers, and bloggers can instantly add up-to-date neighborhood, ZIP code, or city market information to their web properties (for free) by copying and pasting some simple html code. You can see an example of our new home values widget on the top of the right sidebar and I've embedded it in this post below. Whether you specialize … (10 comments)

zillow: Zillow Launches the Zillow Mortgage Marketplace -- a Place where Consumers can Request Loan Quotes Anonymously, and Lenders Have Access to FREE Leads - 04/03/08 11:17 AM
You can check it out here.
Why should you check it out? Well, it depends on who you are -- I'll stick to using Spencer's benefits as Zillow's pitch:
Benefits to lenders:
1. FREE LEADS. FREE LEADS. FREE LEADS. Did I mention free leads?
2.  Lenders only need to communicate by email or phone with borrowers that reach out to them. No more chasing down leads that don't want to be pursued.
What's the catch?
1. Lenders allow themselves to be rated by borrowers.
2. Lenders have to enter their SS# and credit card info and pay a $25 application fee. We then use a 3rd … (9 comments)

zillow: Zillow Releases Neighborhood Boundary Shapefiles - 01/16/08 08:21 PM
Zillow Labs quietly expanded. Our latest addition is a project our data analytics team worked on internally for quite some time. It’s not some cool little web application (though we do build those as well) like you might expect. It’s a bunch of, well, DATA. What sort of data you may ask? The boundary lines for over 7,000 neighborhoods around the United States covering roughly 150 cities. These neighborhood shapes are now available, zipped up in the Arc Shapefile format, for anyone to download.

zillow: Talk with Zillow at Real Estate Connect - 01/04/08 06:35 PM
Note I also posted this on Zillow Blog
A fair number of the Zillow team will be at Real Estate Connect next week in New York. We’d love to chat with as many attendees of the conference as possible — so please come talk to us! We’ll be hanging out in the exhibit hall in booth number D29 for those of you with floor-plan layouts at the tip of your fingers (or just leave a comment and one of us will reach out to you).
Here’s the list of friendly Zillowites attending the conference this year:

zillow: Project Blogger Update - #5 - 06/06/07 01:32 PM
Wow - so Tisza has gotten two live client leads from blogging since my last update, which is absolutely fantastic!! I think that is cause for celebration by itself.
Sure, it would be great to actually "win" the Project Blogger competition, but personally, I get much more out of seeing Tisza actively furthering her real estate business via blogging than trying to win the popularity contest. For all you real estate pros blogging out there -- remember to stay focused and write content for your target market.

zillow: Project Blogger Update - #4 - 05/21/07 02:13 PM
So so sorry for the delay in posting an update of my own, though Tisza has certainly been posting her fair share of updates on her blog and has even made a call for other contestants to disclose their blog statistics.
Tisza got a client via blogging! This is fantastic!! Maybe I should just end this post right now on the high note?? Nah, I'll go on. We added a Kiva.org widget & a ONE.org banner to the blog's sidebar. This was entirely Tisza's suggestion after seeing them on my personal blog, but I certainly love to see people supporting great … (9 comments)

zillow: Project Blogger Update - Calling All Developers - 05/15/07 12:22 PM
So, this isn't so much an update, but a call for a little help from the blogosphere. Route66 Living has an issue that just appears in Internet Explorer 6.0 (I think). The issue is that the center column appears below the sidebar content, so the user is forced to scroll down the page to see the meat of the content. This is a bad user experience for those using IE 6.0.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there a way to load a different theme for those using IE 6.0? Any help will be much appreciated.
Seriously, why can't everyone … (4 comments)

zillow: Project Blogger Update #1 - 04/09/07 10:32 PM
So, it was a fairly hectic week last week with Zillow's latest release. But that didn't stop Project Blogger from kicking off today. I've been trying to wrap up some odds and ends to Tisza's new wordpress blog that we've built.

zillow: My Apprentice Selection -- Tisza Major-Posner - 04/03/07 07:46 PM
First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who left a comment or e-mailed me expressing interest in being my apprentice for Project Blogger. I've finally picked my apprentice -- congratulations to Tisza Major-Posner from Claremont, CA! My selection criteria was fairly simple: I looked for strong initiative and desire to learn how to use a blog to grow a their client base.
Here are the steps she took to catch my attention:
Commented on my Active Rain postCommented on my Zillow Blog postTook the time to read several entries on my personal blog -- and commented Commented again on my AR postTisza … (27 comments)

zillow: Looking for Last Minute Apprentice for Project Blogger - 03/30/07 05:15 PM
This marks my first post on the Active Rain network, though I'm far from new at blogging. I work for Zillow.com and am an active contributor on our corporate blog, the Zillow Blog, that focuses on all things real estate. In addition, I maintain my own personal blog, where I write mainly on the topics of business and web 2.0 technology. My passion is marketing in the era of social media, where traditional marketing tactics don't work like they used to. I'm excited to part of Project Blogger as a late addition to the coaching ranks and would like to thank … (64 comments)
