internet browsers: ALMOST A THIRD OF THE WORLD USES THE INTERNET : 2,000,000,000 USERS - 06/03/11 01:00 PM
Wow. According to Internet World Stats we've hit 2 billion users. The Last time I wrote about this was just over two years ago (link below) and the number of Internet users had just hit 1.5 Billion. These are incredible numbers. As one might expect, the biggest growth has been in Asia where they've added almost 400 million users in the past couple of years. Everyone else has been growing at a less rapid, yet still impressive rate with Europe adding 100 million and the use a mere (!) 30 million. internet browsers: THE TANGLED WIDE WORLD OF WEB BROWSERS : A PERSONAL OPINION - 11/16/09 09:48 AM
As a web designer, part of my Quality Assurance (QA) testing is to verify that my websites work in a number of different browsers. One cannot "assume" that just because it's okay in one, it's going to be okay in another. Beyond just working, the appearance of the site is often affected by the browser as well. Sometimes the behavior difference can be quite dramatic.
