fortbend: Housing Market in Houston Area... Good or Bad? - 08/21/07 10:51 AM

The housing market in the Houston area seems to have held up well... so far!  According to the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) statistics, sales have come up from the previous couple of months decline.  The inventory entering the market has slowed from its fast pace.  The price segment of the market that is still showing signs of weakness is the $80,000 to $150,000 range.  Most likely, this is a result of the current mortgage climate.  The active listings have increased 9.2% over the same month last year and the median home price has had no significant change during … (0 comments)

fortbend: Buyers are wanting Super-Closets - 08/21/07 10:16 AM

In the Houston area market, storage facilities are and have been popping up everywhere.  The need for more storage in the house is becoming a need instead of a want.  Many older homes have little storage space and some don't have many closets at all.  I've seen some older homes in the area that are so small a hanger can't fit in the closet.  Several builders are including extra storage in their designs.  Many closet design companies are doing very well do to the high demand of organized storage solutions.  Every time I take clients to look at … (7 comments)

fortbend: Imperial Sugar Redevelopment Plans - 07/11/07 12:42 PM
Living in Fort Bend County gives you the real sense of community.  I have lived here since I was only 2 years old, so needless to say, I have seen this once company owned (before my time) town grow into a large city while keeping the feel of a small town.
A little history of Sugar Land is that it was a company town until the late 1950s. The Imperial Sugar Company built housing, schools, and hospitals for their workers, and continued to expand by creating subdivisions. Without Imperial Sugar, Sugar Land wouldn't exist.
The refinery used to be open for tours, but, unfortunately for … (7 comments)

fortbend: To Team or Not To Team... That is the Question? - 07/06/07 11:30 AM
Many real estate professionals spend their entire career as an individual agent and hiring an assistant or two or three.  Then there are those who team up with other agents as a joint force.  Then there are others who will have listing/buyer specialists, and a back office team for the processing.  I'm sure there are many otherways teams can be organized.
What I want to know and I'm sure other professionals would like to know as well, is when is a good time to start thinking about a team?  Then to follow up on that question is, what team model works better … (13 comments)
