katy independent school district: Katy Texas is Growing! - 09/07/07 05:43 PM

School is now in session and the enrollment of Katy Independent School District is up. KISD now has 53,634 students with 25,255 of those students enrolled in the 29 elementary schools. This is proof of the growth of young families moving into the area. With so many new homes being built in and around Katy, the population keeps growing at a tremendous rate. According to demographers hired by KISD estimatedthat enrollment would go up around 3,000 students per year, putting KISD on pace for 60,000 students in the 2010-2011 school year.
