A rainy day view of things - 10/26/07 11:15 AM
We recently traveled back to North Carolina's Southern Outer Banks.  For a change it is raining. The rivers have some water in them in central North Carolina and western Virginia.
It is has been a long time since we had a rainy day.
Rainy days are great for reflection.
My first reflection is … (3 comments)

Needing some beach time - 10/23/07 10:50 PM
I thought things might slow down a little with the departure of the tourists, but that has not been the case.
I have been extra busy and have a couple of closing on the horizon which is a nice feeling for a change.
On top of that I made the momentous decison, at … (0 comments)

More fear of real estate agents - 10/18/07 09:47 PM
I know many folks don't understand the real estate process, much less how much training a real estate agent ends up taking or how many reams of forms are involved in selling property.
There is little difference in most people's minds between one real estate agent and another until they actually … (0 comments)

Wishful thinking - 10/16/07 01:14 PM
Things are not always what they look like.  If you look at these shrimp boats in port during the height of the shrimp season, you might think something is wrong.
If you are close enough to the shrimping community, you might known that you can't shrimp on Saturday in North Carolina.  "It … (2 comments)

Booth duty at the Mullet Festival - 10/14/07 10:33 PM
I have never been one to run from booth duty.  I actually think that contact with the general public helps keep you attuned to customers.
Just about every business I been involved with has run the risk of listening to employees more than customers.  That's a quick way to loose customers.
There is … (0 comments)

The intricate real estate-airline pricing model - 10/12/07 01:53 PM
There are a fair number of experts being used by the media who are telling the buying public not to buy property right now because prices will come down.  That's basic economic theory they tell us.
Unfortunately real estate pricing is a little more complex than that. Some prices have come down, … (3 comments)

That real estate buzz - 10/10/07 10:46 PM
Today was a neat day.  I have some clients who read about our area on my websites.  They listed their home, got a full price offer on it and closed at the end of September.
They rented a place on the water for a month while they looked of a home.  Last … (1 comments)

Just how many tee-shirts can one home hold? - 10/07/07 09:50 PM
As we work to purge our home of all the accumulations of the past twenty years, I continue to be surprised with some of what I have kept.
Having worked for Apple for twenty years, I was the recipient of hundreds of tee-shirts which were handed out like bottled water.
You would also … (3 comments)

Twenty years of clutter to clear - 10/06/07 11:22 PM
We are working to get our home ready for sale.
As a Realtor®, I know what needs to be done.
The challenge is that doing that requires a lot of hard decisions on items that have been part of our lives for many years.
Today I went through dozens of tee-shirts which I had … (3 comments)

A Sunny Day Always Helps - 10/04/07 10:46 PM
We're fortunate down on the Southern Outer Banks because we often have blue skies and sunny days.
It makes a huge difference in my attitude.  I can take a lot more grief on a nice day than I can on a cloudy one.
The picture to the left is just the way I … (2 comments)
