I know many folks don't understand the real estate process, much less how much training a real estate agent ends up taking or how many reams of forms are involved in selling property.
There is little difference in most people's minds between one real estate agent and another until they actually start working with one of us. How we handle customers who are reluctant to put their home on the market when they really need to is a good way to build your reputation.
I recently had a very good call with a couple who is thinking about selling their home.

moving: Just how many tee-shirts can one home hold? - 10/07/07 09:50 PM
As we work to purge our home of all the accumulations of the past twenty years, I continue to be surprised with some of what I have kept.
Having worked for Apple for twenty years, I was the recipient of hundreds of tee-shirts which were handed out like bottled water. 
You would also be surprised at how many different coats, sweaters, and bags that I have with an Apple logo.
Still I guess three years of separation have done the trick.  Most of the shirts and Apple logo apparel went out the door this afternoon.
That was actually quite a relief.

Moving to a new town or location is not always easy.  Sometimes people move for the wrong reasons and end up being happy.  Often people don't investigate the area and make sure that it meets their needs.  In Northern Virginia, there was a wave of people who thought they wanted to live on twenty acres in the country.  When they got out in the country, they figured out that they did not know what to do with twenty acres, taking care of that much land was a lot of work, and getting to the services they were used to having was … (0 comments)
