Studio West Interiors in Orange County, California recently had the good fortune of working with a busy executive who was relocating to Orange County. This was both a fun and a challenging project for us - this being a good thing because we always LOVE "fun" and "a good challenge". Part of the fun was that he wanted a well designed bachelor pad, allowed us great amounts of creative freedom and we got to know both him and his dogs (and all of them are lovely!). The challenging part was making sure that we met all of his needs and created a space that would work well for him without a lot of input (we set up the entire house for him, down to towels and dinnerware).

Relocation is a massive change for those involved, and it can mean head pounding amounts of coordination for the person or family being relocated. For this particular client, we did most of our correspondence through email and by phone, and at one point he was on vacation in Cape Cod! There are so many moving parts in a relocation, especially if the person with the new position has to report to work right away. Hiring an interior designer to help make the move less painful is one way to alleviate some of that pain. It was a gratifying thing for us to be able to play a part in such a monumental change in someones life. Seeing everything come together and watching his reaction to his new bachelor pad at the beach, provided us with a sense of pride in our work and a profound respect for what we get to do for a living!
