The perfect incoming link for high search engine rankings - 09/28/07 09:05 PM
Incoming links are one of the most important factors for high search engine rankings. If your website doesn't have enough incoming links then it's very difficult to get high rankings for a competitive search term.
It's important that you get the right kind of links. If you have 20 good incoming links then you'll get better rankings than with 100 bad incoming links.

Points hound or not ? Are we Points Hounds here on ActiveRain ? - 09/26/07 05:31 PM
The other day in a conversation someone called me a points hound because I am over 50,000 points here on Active Rain. So since then when I have conversations with this person, in jest of course, I usuall qualify my position with "but of course I am just a points hound". This got me to thinking, the group I started called Search Engine Optimization: An Hour a Day I have written many articles and posted many, with the authors permission of course, on SEO ( Search Engine Optimization). Well all I can say is that I was to close to the forest … (12 comments)

Questions & Answers, Content Title Meta Tags and Keywords for Better Rankings - 09/24/07 12:20 PM
Well since starting the group Search Engine Optimization: An Hour a Day it has grown to about 75 members. I have received a lot of emails from it's members thanking me for passing on the information about helping there search engine rankings.
Since starting in Real Estate I have spent in excess of $60,000 letting others either gather my leads or designing websites, landing pages et al. My success rate was just a little better than paying my expenses. Also if you wanted to find me on the web you could but only through these paid links. So if the money stopped so did … (7 comments)

Four tips to increase your sales by creating a trustworthy website - 09/24/07 11:45 AM
Even if you have high search engine rankings, people still might not buy from you. The reason for that is that your website might not be trustworthy. Of course, you need a professional web design to create trust.
In addition, there are a few other things that are necessary to convince your website visitors that they should do business with you:
1. Show your visitors who you are
It's amazing how many Internet businesses don't list their postal addresses. Do they have something to hide?
If your customers don't know who you are and where you live they might refrain from doing business … (6 comments)

Does Image hotlinking help your rankings in Google ? - 09/16/07 02:21 PM
Hey all I found this article and to say the least it is intersting. My take on it is if you know the author of the image, could be another http://ActiveRain.com member then this would not be a bad thing to do. Well before I give up what the article is about read this as it at least is food for thought. Doug Beaver
Some webmaster use a new search engine optimization practice to get high rankings on Google. They hotlink images from other web servers to rank highly in Google's image search results.
How does this work?

The effect of unnatural linking patterns on your search engine rankings - 09/04/07 04:23 PM
Inbound links are one of the most important factors that Google uses to determine the position of a website in the search results.
Some years ago, it was sufficient to get a lot of inbound links to top Google's search results. Nowadays, it's not that easy. Google has started to detect unnatural linking patterns.
What are unnatural links?
Unnatural linking is linking that wouldn't happen if search engines didn't exist. Unnatural links are links that are built purely to increase the search engine rankings of a website. These links don't have topical relevancy.
For example, unnatural links are:
•         links from totally unrelated websites (that … (2 comments)

Recent Search Engine News and there links - 09/04/07 04:01 PM
An easy way to find recent web pages
"Now that Google indexes pages extremely fast and saves the date of the first indexing, it would be nice to have more options for restricting search results to a date range.

Google's Matt Cutts: do not stuff your keywords - 09/01/07 01:01 PM
Keyword stuffing is one of the oldest spamming techniques on the Internet. Many webmasters still use that technique although most search engines can detect it nowadays.

Google doesn't like keyword stuffing
"Keyword stuffing is considered to be an unethical search engine optimization (SEO) technique.
Keyword stuffing occurs when a web page is loaded with … (10 comments)
