On Friday afternoon portions of Main Street will be closed off and local merchants will be giving out candy and treats to trick-or-treaters between 4 pm and 6 pm. It's that time again. Time for the annual Georgia Marble Festival in Pickens County GA, October 2-3, 2010. The festivities kick off with a 5K road race at 8 a.m, followed by the 1-mile at 9 a.m. Then of course we have the Marble Festival parade starting at 10 on Main Street.
The rest of the weekend is filled with arts, crafts, music, food, activities and more . . .

Pickens Animal Rescue will hold its fourth annual Hound Dog Golf Tournament at the Bent Tree Golf Club in Jasper, Georgia, on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, starting at 9:00 am. Funds raised through this event go to help support the vital efforts of Pickens Animal Rescue in working with abandoned and abused animals in Pickens County.
