Those Lazy Crazy Days of Summer Arrive Today ... in Ocean City, New Jersey
 
Summer arrives ... and the 10,000 population community slowly expands to above 100,000.  It will take about four or five weeks.  The top ten rental weeks of Summer 2011 start this Saturday (6/25/2011).  The two or three top rental weeks of the summer arrive in late July and run into early August.
 
This is the major vacation period across South Jersey in general and Ocean City (NJ) in particular.  At this time of year, it can be quite hectic here on our little barrier island.  … (0 comments)

Just a note to remember that one year ago on June 2nd ... I had my quadruple bypass surgery in Philadelphia.  I returned home in about five days, started walking in the beginning only able to go down our driveway, and began a schedule of slow fitness that continues today.
 
I went to work yesterday for about six hours after having played tennis for 2.5 hours.  It's quite a dramatic thing to remember my condition one year ago ... and where I am right now.  I'm a … (0 comments)

June Days in Ocean City, New Jersey
 
It's June 1st ... just after a warm Memorial Day Weekend in Ocean City, New Jersey.  It's still spring, but it feels like summer.  The town was full from Friday afternoon through mid-day Monday ... but there all gone now.  We're back to those early June Days where the week days are calm and quiet and the weekends are crazy and loud.  Now that's the shore life at this time of year.
