This will be my first Holiday/Winter Season in Hampton Roads and I am looking forward to it already. We have just had our first light snow flurries and cold weather and I'm amped up for the rest of it. When we moved to Norfolk in April we were having a tough time figuring out where to live. Which area? How far is it to the base? What's a good or bad area? What we ended up with was an apartment that is a good size for us in an area that is easy access to everything. For the last couple of years I have worked for people who have everything they want and I couldn't possibly give them anything on their birthdays, boss appreciation day or the holidays so I decided early on to make donations in their names. One for her and one for him to charities they care about and donate to as well. They seem to really appreciate the thought and sentiments. After giving it further thought it occurred to me that I would appreciate a gift of a donation just as much as a thoughtful thing purchased or made for me so I did … (7 comments)
