Press On! - 08/26/10 06:46 AM
Have you ever had one of those mornings when the clock goes off and you simply can't move - your muscles are screaming back at you to lay still!  I'm having one of those mornings - however - I've decided to push through it and get moving.
I started trying to do some much needed exercise this week. I've actually walked a mile each day :-) ...um I think I just found the source of why I'm tired and have sore muscles. I know it's good for me to exercise and get my my body in shape - so I'll press … (3 comments)

Cutting Grass Is Therapy! - 08/22/10 09:25 PM
I love getting on the lawn mower and cutting my grass.  I have tried putting my head set & IPod in, but lately, I like just riding through the yard and thinking. I find some of my clearest thoughts come when I'm cutting the grass.
A few weeks ago, I introduced my son, Matthew to my old Snapper (affectionately known as "Nathan"). The lawn mower is quite a workhorse. I must go ahead and confess right here that I'm not a great yard guy. I'm careful NOT to kill weeds, because they are green and help fill in the gaps. I … (4 comments)

Right is Still Right & Wrong is Still Wrong - 08/18/10 06:58 AM
I think that there are some things that never change and actually they should never change.  I've come to this conclusion many times as there are opportunities in Real Estate to stand around in the "gray areas".  I've also come to believe that the "gray area" is really, really tiny. The things we do in all of life are mostly black & white - right or wrong. I've been a participant in both. When I do something wrong - I'm usually one of the first, if not the first to know it. I must make it right.
When I first became … (5 comments)

Routine - 08/17/10 07:14 AM
I sometimes love routine and I sometimes hate routine.  Routine can be boring and monotonous. I can go through routine without thinking or reflecting - just do it. Routine can mean control, on schedule, on time. I so broke my routine yesterday and went golfing. It was fun, hot & exhilarating! I have to make something clear - I'm a "hacker" not a golfer. I love playing golf with a good friend, but I'm at peace with the fact that I'll never be a great golfer.  My routine was freaked out a bit, but this 4.5 hour hiatus from work. I … (3 comments)

Showing Themes - 08/14/10 06:58 PM
I am working with a client that is looking for a specific property with details and the geographic area is pretty significant. I've spent the last two Saturdays showing property and refining the search.
The first Saturday we looked at 6 properties scattered over West Georgia and 5 out of 6 properties had a hot-tub. My buyers were not excited about the hot-tubs at all. In fact that would be an item that would need to be removed during the purchase process. (It's funny to me, because I think a hot-tub would be a nice addition to most homes!)
Today (Saturday), … (3 comments)

Make The Bed!! - 08/13/10 09:29 PM
I will admit it, I'm one of the people who make the bed every morning. I think I've got it timed and I can do this menial task in about 90 seconds flat!  My kids used to use the argument that "we're going to get back in the bed in a few hours, so why should we make the bed?"
My Mom alwasy taught me that when the bed was made, the whole room looked better. As a REALTOR, I must agree with Mom.  I've shown homes without the beds made and it just feels wrong on so many levels.
I … (12 comments)

School Is In Session! - 08/09/10 06:53 AM
My youngest son starts back to school today. There's a part of me that is sad that summer is over and part of me excited about this school year. He is excited about his teachers and they are excited about having him. (I don't think they are just saying that! :-) )
My three older children have all graduated from the same school system that he's in. I found a website that ranks the schools. Go here to see where you're school ranks!
After you see where your school ranks, get involved with the teachers, staff and administration and help your … (3 comments)

Back To School Prayers! - 08/03/10 07:01 AM
Our Teachers and Staff are reporting today for the first day of a new school year. I was reminded this morning of how significant these people have been and continue to be in the life of my family. My youngest son starts 7th grade and he has been influenced by some of the best if not THE BEST teachers in the USA!  They have helped him learn social skills, they underscored the values that I hold dear and they've taught him academically along the way.
I pray for all teachers, school staff and central office staff, especially today, as a new … (2 comments)

RECONNECTED! - 08/01/10 08:39 PM
I made it home from vacation on Saturday! My family and I had a wonderful time visiting the House of Mouse in Orlando!  We strategized and hit the parks at the best possible times and worked some shows (with A/C) along with roller coster and other great rides. I must say that it was fun making memories with the family. I have to say that this is the first time I've gone almost a week without getting my computer out of the bag. I really did lay low and I have a wonderful assistant and staff that handled almost every call … (4 comments)
