For the last two or three weeks, all of the full time Realtors at Carousel Realty including myself have been working really hard with clients. It is almost like someone turned on the faucet.
I believe the Dyersburg market has turned and I know my broker, Mike Frazier has been saying the same thing. It has been really hard for me personally for the last year because of slow sales but my trainer Jackie Keeling and broker Mike Frazier have been training us very hard and telling us this day would come.
I love this real estate business and love to help clients purchase a home. If you are moving to the Dyersburg Tennessee area, please give me a call at 731-334-1755. I am available 24/7 and I am ready to assist you:)

The story behind this picture is that Mike and his wife Gail went on a Alaskan cruise to celebrate their wedding anniversary. He had been sending us emails of some beautiful pictures of which I'm sure he will be sharing with you folks. Anyway, the boss man had sent us one particular one which was, well ... we just could not pass up this opportunity! So Donna and I in all our silliness (or was it boredom?) decided to have some fun with this picture. I provided the sign and she provided the write-up. Enjoy.
ALASKA BOUND - Our fearless leader took off on an adventure of a lifetime on May 10th headed North for Alaska. Of all the adventures he has done from panning gold to whale watching I found this picture the most intriguing! What could it be? Is it a new cross of Caribou? Maybe a new species of mankind? NO...it is our fearless leader in one of his many adventures. Next year we'll have to ask for an all-inclusive trip to ALASKA under the leadership of this cross between man and caribou. I hear the Eskimos are a little strange, I wonder what they think about Dyersburg ? This picture should give you a clue.

For weeks I had been trying to decide what piece of technology should I purchase. A newer laptop or a smartphone? Once I narrowed that down the decision now to make was Treo or Blackberry?
Enter the HTC Touch Sprint Smartphone. This phone came highly recommended by the salesperson at Radio Shack. Now I haven't even heard of this model but I was very impressed with the features and the demonstration of the its capabilities. Plus I knew I was going to sign with that carrier's unlimited everything plan.
Well it took about 2 weeks to realize I had made a mistake - not with the phone mind you - the Touch was great, but my calls were getting dropped - and couple of those were clients! So, back to Radio Shack and back to the drawing board. Again I was faced with Treo or Blackberry??
I had finally decided on a Blackberry Curve 8330 (Verizon) providing a full QWERTY keyboard with backlight and of course wireless email and internet browser. This phone also features a 2.0 megapixel camera (with 5x zoom) and video recorder, organizer and GPS! And I really like the trackball feature - took awhile to get used to it though - I kept tapping on the screen because I was used to the Touch phone and its nice little stylus.
The Blackberry also works as a tethered modem, so I can hook it up to my laptop and be good to go. The battery life is pretty awesome too. It will hold a charge for a whole two days before having to plug it in. Never had a phone DO THAT before.
I would recommend the Blackberry Curve 8330 and in this area Verizon seems to work best. Have not had any dropped calls and I can make or recieve calls in just about any location - even Crockett County - wow!
I would like to introduce all of ya'll to Jake, our 1 year old Tabby. We got him about 2 weeks ago. My hubby brought him home for our son. Now my husband is not what you would call a cat lover so I was pretty shocked when he announced that he would be bringing Jake home from the animal shelter. My son was estastic to say the least when Jake walked into the living room.
The two amigos
In the morning he loves to plop down in front of you and roll on his back then look at you meowing, "please rub my belly" He loves to have his belly rubbed. He also loves chasing that darned red light that seems to appear from time to time - especially when I'm around ;)
When it's time for daddy to come home Jake will jump up into his recliner and wait there to welcome him home. Jake also likes to spend time with me in the kitchen around suppertime just meowing away. We have some pretty good talks. He is quite the conversationalist. I think he is still trying to talk me into letting him go into my daughter's room where "Hammie" resides.
Nope. Hamsters are not in Jake's diet.
For a $40 adoption fee you can also bring home a new family member. The Dyersburg/Dyer County Humane Society's Pet of the Week is featured in the Dyersburg State Gazette newspaper. For more information call 285-4889.
Toward the end of the year the kids are let loose outside to enjoy field day. This was my first year to attend and we all had a blast! First the kids were treated to a brown bag lunch outside (it was a beautiful day) and then they played on the inflatables and had their faces painted. Most of the third grade class opted for cat whiskers, I guess that was the 'in' thing for this particular group. Then after about an hour of roaming the field freely they were called to line up to participate in various relay races that involved jump ropes, hula hoops and balloons. Needless to say these kids burned a lot of energy that day and my son slept like a baby that night.
Newbern Grammar School is located on Washington Street in Newbern, Tennessee. There are 4-5 classes for each grade level from kindergarten to fifth grade. Here is a link if you would like to know more about one of Dyer County's great schools.
Yes, I know I am a day late (and two dollars short, right? ;) I had started this post yesterday when I got back to the office because I could not get the wonderful laptop to connect wirelessly at the Holiday Inn Express :( Soon after I starting working on this I became busy with clients - so here it is the day after the training. Okay, enough of that ...
Yesterday was quite an experience to say the least. I would like to thank first of all Mike and Donna for getting all of this put together. Secondly thank you Brad Andersohn for coming all the way from California to teach all of us about blogging, search engine optimization, links and what not and really just putting your heart and soul into what you do.
After our 1st session of training we enjoyed a delicious lunch (thank you Patsye Jones!) that consisted of chicken parmesan, corn casserole, beans, rolls and cake for dessert then started the second session.
I wished there had been more time not only for training but to socialize and to get to know each other better. I look forward to doing business with each and every one of you and maybe we can get to know each other more in the 'rain. Yesterday was truly a blessing.
Who knows maybe we can do this again sometime soon - and Vickie, we will have to find more sushi lovers - maybe we'll win next time. LOL.
Just had to share this with all of you. God has been so good!
Tonight we observed the Lord's Supper at church. It was done in a special way however. Our pastor asked all family members to sit together, and then he called us up one family at a time to observe. Before we took the bread and the fruit of the vine he let each one of us know how much he appreciated us. I was sad because my husband, our son and myself were standing up there but our 18 yr. old daughter chose to stay home so I just felt a little emptiness there. We sit back down in our pew and my 9 year old tells me he is ready to be saved. Of course I asked him if he was sure and that I'm very happy but want to stress the fact that he needs to be ready. He assured me he was and that he wanted to talk to our pastor but only if I go with him. So my tears of sadness turn to tears of joy!
God has really blessed our church too. Tonight there were 80 people present. Easter Sunday we had over I believe 250 people - last Sunday almost the same amount. Our deacons had to stand aganst the wall we were so packed. Praise the Lord what a wonderful problem to have!
