When the media reports on the US real estate market, does the report accurately reflect your area? Does the media tell the Real Story?
Let's take a look at the Tale of 2 Condos.
Back in November of 2003 we purchased a 2 bedroom condo in Washington Township, MI. At the time the condos in the complex were selling between $120,000 - $125,000. However, since we purchased a HUD foreclosure we only paid $105,000.

40% of those were bank owned

51 condos are currently on the the market
47 are private sellers
4 of those are short sales
4 are bank owned
4 condos are pending a closing
0 condos have closed in the past 30 days
0% of those were bank owned

Several years ago Macomb County ranked as one of the fastest growing counties in Michigan. However, with the credit crunch and automotive being hit so hard, many of our businesses have taken a beating with people leaving the area. In an effort to help out our local business partners we decided to feature one every Friday. Many will be referrals from family, friends and clients and a few will come from personal experience.

washington township: SAMARITAN HOUSE HELPS MANY IN MACOMB COUNTY - 11/23/08 04:47 PM
Several years ago I was looking to get rid of some old clothes and just happened to stop in the Samaritan House in Washington Township. They told me that they did not store clothes there but did occationally need them and asked if I would like to be added to their e-mail list, in case someone had a specific clothing need.
Since then I realized they are a wonderful organization that not only help those in need of clothes but also shelter, utility bills and Christmas gifts through Sharing Tree. I have personally helped them pass out dinners for Easter and Thanksgiving and backpacks and school … (0 comments)

55 - Condos are currently for sale
of those 95% are private owners and 5% are bank owned
35 - Homes and Condos are currently pending a closing
26 - Home and Condos were sold over the past 30 days
It should also be noted that of the 263 homes and condos for sale 10 are short sales.
