Don't look just yet, but the cash for appliances by the Department of Energy should be launched, state by state this late fall or winter. The details have not been ironed out yet and each state will establish it's own appliance rebate program and consumers should not have to haul their bulky appliances to a store in exchange for new ones.

This should also be in addition to appliance tax credits available through the IRS.
