charitable donations: Charity Always Begins at Home - 12/30/23 10:04 AM
Charity Always Begins at Home
The month of December is an active month for charities and organizations looking to get monthly pledges so as to continue doing the work they do. Whether it's for animals, children, or veterans. the work needs help and as the expression goes: You have no chance unless you ask.
I get it, and we do it, most of which is locally with the church charities that feed the poor, through pantries.
Even Santa's helpers with their red pots and bells in front of stores get assistance.
For me, however, the commissions I earn have gone to the Susan Komen foundation … (12 comments)

charitable donations: Paying it Forward . . . When one Door Closes Another one Opens - 01/30/11 10:06 PM
Paying it Forward . . . When one Door Closes Another one Opens Back in December we closed down our office in Prospect and merged with another RE/MAX office in nearby Cheshire. As the other office was already established, we had a lot of office furnishings and equipment to move.
We were fortunate that we found happy homes for most of the furniture, file cabinets, copiers and fax, and eve the phone system. Left over were 5 computer systems that we chose not to sell.

Pay it Forward . . . I Closed a Transaction, now I Make my Donations Closed, 53 Old Fairwood Road, Bethany, CT
Throughout my RE/MAX career, I have always been a Miracle Agent. That doesn't mean that it was a miracle if I sold a home. Being a Miracle Agent in the RE/MAX System, means that I choose to make a donation to the Miracle Home System from the proceeds of my commission.
These donations are used to fund special programs at the nearest Children's hospital, which in this case is the Children's wing at Hartford Hospital. All donations are used … (54 comments)

charitable donations: My first day of Christmas - 12/15/10 07:07 AM
It's Christmas and a time when every body finds a little extra charity in their hearts.
This post was written looking for support for the Susan G Komen Cure for Cancer walk-a-thon that was made by Jessica Fiorelli. She made a commitment to the cause but came up short of the minimum of $2,300 needed. She is about 2/3 of the way there but needs some additional assistance.
Find it in your hearts to get over to the Susan G Komen site and make a donation. I did in my wife, Cauna's name as she is a Breast Cancer survivor.

charitable donations: Clothing Donations for Vietnam Veterans - 08/19/10 09:13 AM
We just received a mailing from the Vietnam Veterans of America looking for deductible donations of used clothing, etc. There is to be a drive in Prospect on Tuesday, August 31. for the purpose of picking up donations.
I checked the web site, and it appears to be a real organization, with representation all of the country.
Their website, which lists the states of their activity, and the procedures for donating is www.vva.org.

They especially need clothing! They sell donated household goods to private companies by a bid procedure. The funds received provide a substantial amount of their needs to … (4 comments)
