christmas 2016: The Perfect Age for Santa Claus Not So Wordless Wednesday - 12/28/16 06:28 PM
We are the Grandparents that get up at 5 in the AM to make the drive to watch the grandson open his presents, and we do bring the coffee as well.
We were a little but late due to the lines, but did manage to get there just as the festivities were about to begin.  Grandson Raphael will be 8 in February.  This may be the last Christmas of belief as kids at school start to talk and the magic starts to disappear.
I missed some opportunity as I left the camera in the car and had to go back to get it.
There was the new baseball … (17 comments)

christmas 2016: Christmas 2016 From Our House and Hearts to Yours from Prospect CT - 12/24/16 12:44 PM
Christmas is a magical time of year and for as long as I can remember the anticipation of the running to the Christmas Tree early in the morning was special and seemed to take longer each year.
I do remember one Christmas when my day had a sour ending and made it difficult for me to sit comfortably for a while.
I had an older brother and as is sometimes the case, sibling rivalry can get out of hand.  Each year when it came time for presents, he seemed to get something that was age appropriate for him, but just in my heart should have been mine.  Such was … (12 comments)

christmas 2016: Christmas is a Week Away Have you been Naughty or Nice? - 12/18/16 10:14 AM
With Christmas being a week away it might be too late to determine naughty or nice in the eyes of some.  We all have the hope that we would be considered nice, but it may have been just a little bit of a lapse in a statement or in the mind of a customer or client that would push us over into the naughty category.
If we start out with good intentions each day and carry that forward, we should be in the nice side of the ledger.  Doing our best to be informative and knowledgeable is the goal yet we just … (16 comments)

christmas 2016: We May Still Have A White Christmas in Prospect CT - 12/17/16 09:56 AM
No dreaming is necessary for a White Christmas here in Prospect CT based on the white stuff that is coating the ground a week before the big day.
We had almost 6 inches of a coating before it stopped but with temps below freezing it isn't going anyplace any time soon.

At the very least I know I don't need anything from the shed until the weather gets warmer.
It is supposed to get warmer tomorrow, Sunday with a chance of rain which will only make this snow a much bigger problem with the slush and then the heavy ice after.

christmas 2016: Preparing to Enjoy the Christmas Season in Prospect CT - 12/09/16 08:08 PM
Preparing to Enjoy the Christmas Season in Prospect CT
Christmas is a big time in our family. It always has been and will carry forward for years to come. It is so much a part of our year end that as our grandson came into the house on black Friday he ran into the great room looking to see our Christmas tree up and ready for Santa.

That day there was a little bit of disappointment as the tree was still stored away from the previous year. Yes, it's artificial but we put up a 10 foot tree and they are tough to … (8 comments)

christmas 2016: Christmas Will Be More Expensive this Year than Last Year - 12/01/16 12:00 PM
The 12 Days of Christmas Have Been Hit By Inflation
For that true love to impress his lady this year, he will have to dig deeper into his pockets in order to keep the shine on that lady's eyes.  If he's lazy about his shopping and shops online it will even more expensive.
Inflation has been inconsistent on it's impact to the gifts, with an average increase of only $233  or .7%. The total cost is now $34,363 up from $34,131.

The gifts summarize as follows:

1 Partridge In a Pear Tree
 2 Turtle Doves
 3 French Hens
 4 Calling Birds
 5 Gold Rings
 6 Geese-a-laying
 7 Swans a-Swimming
