wordless wednesday: Love Is In The Air in Prospect CT Wordless Wednesday - 05/02/23 03:56 PM
Love Is In The Air in Prospect CT  Wordless Wednesday
While sitting and working at my window spot, I noticed movement on the front lawn. I tried to focus on what it was and was pleasantly shocked to see some new wildlife make a visit.
I caught this tom just before it dropped down to the neighbor's yard, and sat ad waited as I saw a couple others down there as well. There were 2 males and when they thought she was looking, they would spread their wings and tail feathers and make their calls to try and entice the one hen.
They danced … (20 comments)

Almost .... Wordless Wednesday
Having a room that overlooks a golf course allows one to see the various skills that people may or may not possess when it comes to the game.
Very few understand that it is a game that cannot be won, just the accomplishment of having a better score than your playing companion.
Lost balls are never desired and looking for them can get frustrating, especially if you saw the direction it went.
Looking down from my window, I saw a couple of balls that will never be found.

Wordless Wednesday  Setting Sun In The Gulf Of Alaska
Over the weekend I was looking at the photos we took on our Alaska cruise a few summers ago.  Some wonderful memories. A couple did stand out especially as we were heading back to the San Francisco are and the end of the cruise.

As we sailed away from the sunset it was with a heavy heart and a memory of great things we saw.

wordless wednesday: Not So Wordless Wednesday Cruising up Alaska's Inner Passage - 01/20/21 01:26 PM
Cruising up Alaska's Inner Passage
While on our Alaskan cruise in the summer of 2019, we made our way up what is referred to as the Inner Passage with stops in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.  The glaciers were impressive and when fortunate one could see a piece fall off the glacier with a large rumble and bigger splash.

Glacier ice has a deep blue color and that's due to the lack of oxygen and the pressure created over time in the glaciers.
It was a fantastic experience and truly something for which one can hardly be wordless on any day of the week.

wordless wednesday: A Last Grasp At Sunlight Reflected off The Clouds - 12/30/20 05:21 AM
A Last Grasp At Sunlight Reflected off The Clouds
On a stay at Siesta Key in FL a few years ago we sat on the beach waiting for the sunset as they are usually special over water.
A glance up and the view was almost of not even better as the last rays of the sun were reflected off the clouds.
There's beauty all around us if we just open eyes and take the time to see it.

wordless wednesday: The Perfect Age for Santa Claus Not So Wordless Wednesday - 12/28/16 06:28 PM
We are the Grandparents that get up at 5 in the AM to make the drive to watch the grandson open his presents, and we do bring the coffee as well.
We were a little but late due to the lines, but did manage to get there just as the festivities were about to begin.  Grandson Raphael will be 8 in February.  This may be the last Christmas of belief as kids at school start to talk and the magic starts to disappear.
I missed some opportunity as I left the camera in the car and had to go back to get it.
There was the new baseball … (17 comments)

wordless wednesday: When DataMining Gets Carried Away Wordless Wednesday - 01/05/16 09:42 PM
As I was looking at our local Waterbury CT newspaper this morning, I had to pause for the face that was staring back at me. We strive to have our marketing be effective and some people have resources that just make it easier to be noticed.
Endre Barath, Jr.  has not lived in the Waterbury CT area in at least 20 years, yet I'd be willing to bet he doesn't get front page coverage on the LA Times, but he made an appearance on the Waterbury CT newspaper.
Data mining at it's best.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday A Lost Pyramid - 11/11/15 11:37 AM
While driving along a barren road in Western Nevada my eyes caught a site on the horizon that seemed out of place.

From a distance it really was impressive and as we got closer it was obvious that it was a long abandoned strip mine site.

wordless wednesday: A Mushroom With an Attitude Wordless Wednesday - 10/14/15 03:36 AM
A Mushroom can also be called a Toadstool
This little gem caught my eye at the base of an oak tree in a center island of a neighborhood I was in earlier today.  I threw my hat down in front of it for perspective on size as it was almost 3 feet across.  If this was a real toadstool, the legs on the beast that sat on it would have to have been the size of a turkey leg.  I touched just a corner of it with my shoe and it did move and shake.
I left it there for someone else … (16 comments)

wordless wednesday: A Troopers Rest Stop Wordless Wednesday - 06/24/15 05:24 AM
Almost Wordless Wednesday
We had taken a few days to attend a family wedding in North Carolina.  We stopped for a late night bite to eat and when we looked across the street my first thought was a police barracks as there were 5 NC state trooper cars all in a row.
I asked our attendant if this was a fluke and was told it was a nightly occurrence.  I also asked why they were not at the local Krispy Kreme and parked here at the Dunkin Donuts.  The explanation was that the sheriff's deputies go the Krispy Kreme as it is closer to their jurisdiction.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday, (Almost) A Sunset to Make Me Stop - 08/22/12 12:27 PM
Wordless Wednesday, (Almost)  A Sunset to Make Me Stop
As I was making my way home this evening, after a particularly testing day, hungry and just a touch irritable, I looked towards the horizon at just the right time to allow for a quick view and to crack a smile.
I pulled over and took the photo of an almost perfect sunset. The sky was brilliant with the reds and it was so peaceful and pleasant to see.
Maybe it wasn't such a bad day after all.

wordless wednesday: Wednesday Photos . . Bahamian Sunrise - 11/10/10 01:06 AM
Our last morning on the Grand Bahama Island of Freeport. We were staying on the southeast side of the Island and with the weather pattern set up by Tropical Storm Tomas, we did not have many sunny mornings to enjoy a sunrise.
Ourt last morning her and I was able to get the sunrise:

Sun just breaking the surface of the ocean.

Wake up sleepy heads, the sun just showed up. It's going to be a great day!
Our over the ocean into the last and only strip of clouds in the sky.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday When nature has too many choices! - 06/17/09 03:13 AM
Even though the rain doesn't want to stop, the spring flowers are still doing their thing. My perennials have been sprouting for a while, but I am starting to understand the frustration felt by that elder statesman, Elmer Fudd, and his adventures with 'datrascally rabbit'. My hostas are coming out of the ground with a vengeance.

But, there seems to be something that thinks my yard is a buffet.

I spotted it just as it was disappearing over the wall.

Now if I can just figure out how it jumped so high to have gotten so much … (7 comments)
