A home is a huge personal and financial investment and you may feel the need to rework some of the rooms in your house to your liking, add an addition, etc. If you plan on living in your current home indefinitely, then the “itch” to remodel may be something you want to “scratch.” If this is the case, you should talk to your insurance agency beforehand. Remodeling your home can be very costly; make sure that the changes you make to your home will not negatively affect your homeowner’s insurance policy as well. Most insurance agents can give you some insight
