My mom has macular degenerative disease in both eyes.  At one point it seemed likely she would become almost completely blind.  So I bought her a computer and started researching.  She loves to read.  The thought of her not being able to do so was devastating.
 
I did alot of research on the Internet.  There are a number of programs out there to have your computer read to you, many of them very expensive.  But I found a wonderful little program called "Text Aloud".  The basic cost is $29. or you can get a fancier version for $49.95 with … (2 comments)
