appreciation: Salt Lake City Real Estate - 2nd strongest metro price increase in the west - 08/26/08 06:39 PM
Salt Lake area home prices (for homes that actually sell) appear to be relatively flat at this time. The good news is that it would appear that Salt Lake still has some cushion considering that the median existing single-family home price "in the West" was $290,600 and Salt Lake came in (0 comments)
appreciation: Salt Lake Real Estate over the past year (April 2007-April 2008) - 04/16/08 12:08 PM
A year ago Salt Lake was seeing appreciation rates in the 15-20% range. Today, appreciation is somewhere between 0 and +3% (My best guess - Official Data won't be out until the 20th).
There was a 6 month stretch with fewer home sales, making it harder to find comparable sales for (0 comments)
appreciation: Utah Leads Nation in Price Appreciation (STILL!) - 02/26/08 06:42 PM
The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight has issued the report we have all been waiting for... Utah still leads the nation in home-price appreciation! Of course, these reports are a little behind the times and I wouldn't expect anyone to believe that homes appreciated at 9.7% for January or February. I'm still (4 comments)
appreciation: Hot markets - can you trust the national media? - 01/09/08 10:49 AM
OK. Don't get me wrong. The real estate market in Salt Lake is doing better than most places in the country. I just want to point out to the person who isn't involved in real estate on a daily basis (i.e. the consumer) that the actual truth about the market is (6 comments)

An ActiveRain Friend asked the following: "I was reading an article that said the Midwest is starting to get a little better, but that the States out by you are going to feel the brunt coming on a little more now. How is the market by you? I was thinking of moving in (0 comments)
appreciation: MSN's Cramer: Homes are still a good investment - 12/19/07 06:50 PM
Are you a sucker? MSN's Jim Cramer says: "If you don't buy a house in 6-18 months you're a sucker." I won't go so far as that, but in our market, if you are waiting to buy a home, you are likely going to pay much more for that home in 6-18 (5 comments)
appreciation: Why You Shouldn't Wait to Buy A Home in Salt Lake - Simple Analysis - 12/13/07 03:31 AM
If you are considering a home purchase in the Salt Lake City, Utah area, you may be getting mixed signals as to whether you should buy a home now, or wait another year.
A recent article Forbes Magazine stated, "In Salt Lake City, the median home sale price for the third (4 comments)
appreciation: The Benefits of Being Late to the Housing Boom Party - 12/13/07 03:20 AM
The market in Salt Lake is certainly slowing down, but for all our sakes, that is a good thing. Last year's appreciation rates of 20-25% were great for all homeowners and created a bit of a buying-frenzy that had many buyers involved in multiple-offer transactions and many Builders and Sellers seemed to (3 comments)
appreciation: Salt Lake's Real Estate Market in a Historical Context - 12/13/07 03:13 AM
My observation of Salt Lake's Real Estate market over the past 10-15 years has been that it tends to chug along at a very moderate appreciation rate in the range of 3-5%. There are times when it is slightly better than this and times when it is slightly worse. But, generally, (0 comments)
appreciation: Salt Lake City Market Update - Something's Gotta Give - 04/02/07 03:40 PM
My experience in the first 3 months of this year (2007) is that there were many Sellers (whether of their own initiative, or based on advice from their listing agent) who were putting their homes on the market as if the market was still appreciating at a 20% appreciation rate (which (1 comments)
