You may have recently heard of the mortgage fraud that has hit the bay area.  I was just informed two days ago that my dear friend, who lives in Concord, CA, was one of the victims.  He was surprised when he received a notice from the lender that his home will be up for auction next month.  Imagine the shock on his face and the confusion when he thought that he was safe.

The link I have pasted is a true story.  Once you read it, you will know what I am referring to when I say "he thought he was safe".  We are all upset over this news and are trying so desperately to help our friend.  They don't even have any money for food and this person was robbing them each and every month!!!!  He is now working with the district attorney and local sheriff's office.  He may never get the funds back that he gave this person and he may not be able to save his home.

According to my friend, the owner of this shop was a notary and they were notarizing grant deeds.

Read the story and my blog will make sense.

I am posting this story to alert people that fraud exists and to be very careful!

Welcome to my neck of the woods in Contra Costa County.  Not much going on right now in the Notary business.  It's been too quiet and I'm not used to it.  I've decided to branch out and try new things.

I am lucky enough to be participating in providing election data and analysis for the Primary election.  I will be assisting both local and national news media.

I will definately see the impact of the information I collect on the news channel,  the newspaper, websites and radio stations.  Anything pertaining to how people voted, whom they voted for, what issues were dear to them...etc will be a direct result of my work.

I will be sure to rush home and watch the results on TV on Election Night!!!

My business as a Loan Signer and Notary, in the Contra Costa County, is a big part of my life, and it's good to give back. Every year items are donated to numerous charitable events, including local churches in Concord, California. We're very active at our local school, providing volunteer time and attending meetings. With a local business, it's important to not just serve the community, you should be part of the community as well!
