A very eye-opening article was published in The Grand Rapids Press on Sunday by local reporter Cami Reister. Why and how much home prices and values have decreased in Kent County and also neighboring Ottawa and Allegan Counties. As Real Estate Agents, we've been talking about this for the last two years. Home values have significantly decreased in the last two to three years and depending on how many foreclosures and short sales come on the market this year, might continue to drop your home value further.

Located in Shelbyville, MI (Allegan County) and centrally located to Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. Shelbyville is a quaint, small town with a small town feel so you'll be living in the beautiful country, but on a road that's easily accessible to US131. Being that I'm a golf fanatic, you're two minutes away from Hidden Valley Golf Course which is a personal favorite of mine. You've also got Gun Lake for camping and recreation nearby as well as other lakes and golf courses. Michigan has many, many lakes, small and large for fishing to fun!

I closed on my first HUD Home last week and I must say, all went quite smoothly, much to my surprise. Anytime you're buying or selling an "as is" home, things can get a little scary. But aside from the fact that HUD has their own complete set of paperwork to fill out (not too complicated, just different) and their own closers which don't necessarily work in your area (we had to drive about an hour away), my client is the proud new owner of a nice 3 bedroom/2 bath manufactured home in Allegan County, MI on one acre with … (6 comments)
