The Western Michigan Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors honored 2 wonderful ladies this month. Lola Audu, Broker for Audu Real Estate (and proudly, my Broker) for Realtor of the year for all the work she has done with our local board (President-Elect), Grand Rapids Association of Realtors and blogging insights/teachings as well as her participation with the WCR. Patricia Caston of Midstate Title, for Affiliate of the Year. Patricia puts in countless hours volunteering to help our Chapter be as successful as it is and is also Recording Secretary for our State Chapter of WCR.

This past Friday at Frederik Meijer Gardens 2 of our fellow Rainers were honored at our Grand Rapids Association of Realtors(R) breakfast. First, and I must admit I am very proud of her, our own Lola Audu was installed as a Director for the upcoming year. I'm really excited about that, too, because of Lola's insights into the technology of today and her visions; and also because of her integrity, which is so important in this day and age. Today I attended my first local WCR luncheon here in Grand Rapids at the Watermark Country Club. I met and talked to several members of the Women's Council and really had an enjoyable time (the food was fabulous). My main reason for attending was that they were featuring a wonderful speaker whom I greatly admire and who can captivate audiences and really get their minds racing.

As I am fast approaching my 2 year anniversary in Real Estate (what a ride it's been!) - My first "ThemThem" post has to be about my friend, Broker and Mentor Lola Audu. Last week I had the honor of being in attendance at the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors (R) building and helping out (somewhat) with a Blogging and Technology Seminar (or Web 2.0 vs. 1.0) that our own Lola Audu was the main speaker. lola audu: The Open House Hijacking - 08/30/07 12:18 PM
I was reading Lola Audu's post today on a simple, nice closing we had yesterday, when midway through the post she mentioned a Mortgage Lender who had come to an Open House I had at this home (Grand Rapids, MI) and "scared off" my one and only potential Buyer for that day. He arrived outside, child in tow, and intercepted the lady in the driveway, handed her a flyer that he had printed up with my info/picture and his, too, talked to her for quite awhile (I thought he was a RE Agent and this was his client, so I gave … (42 comments)
