      <title>It's been a LONG time!</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;My first AR blog in years!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Let me start out by letting each and every one of my AR friends know how much I have missed you!! I haven't blogged in soooooo long, that I am feeling a bit disconnected.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A lot has happened and changed since then.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;I have entered into the medical field&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;I have moved to a new Real Estate firm&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;I have watched my children grow soooooo much&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Anticipating this September. For, all of my children will be attending school! =)&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;New home&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;New family members&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Well, I could go on and on.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So, now that you know what I have been up to, how about you all let me in on what's been going on in your neck of the woods.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

It has been &lt;br&gt;linked to increased hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in brain )&lt;br&gt;among women ages 18-49 in the three days after starting use&lt;br&gt;of medication.       <title>Give until it hurts</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Today, I finally did it!&amp;nbsp; I went to the salon and had my hair cut!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You're probably thinking," Who cares!", but that's exactly why I did.&amp;nbsp; It was because I cared enough, and yes it was quite a sacrifice on my part, but it was done out of unselfishness.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;(What in the world is this girl rambling on about!) PLEASE KEEP READING i PROMISE THERE IS A POINT TO THIS.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here's my before picture&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/2/6/9/2/2/ar118472036622962.JPG" height="351" alt=" " width="340"&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And actually, this was taken a while back ago , last year , so my hair was way longer than this, when I had it cut today.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I had this done so I could donate my hair to &lt;strong&gt;LOCKS OF LOVE.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For those of you that have no idea what LOCKS OF LOVE is, I'll explain.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;They are a charity who take people's donated hair ( has to be at least 10 in long or longer to be donated) and they make wigs out of it.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;These wigs are given to children who don't have hair due to amny reasons, such as, chemotherapy, alopecia, or may have had their scalp burned. These wigs boost the self esteem of these dear little children and I was more than happy to help!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here is my after photo ( sorry so blurry had to take it with my phone, because my digital was dead)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I had 14.5 in. cut off to be donated.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;img src="http://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/9/0/1/0/5/ar118472085250109.jpg" height="480" alt=" " width="511"&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;If you would like more information on LOCKS OF LOVE, please go to their web site at LOCKSOFLOVE.ORG&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

I felt that it should be posted here on&amp;nbsp;Active Rain for everyone to read.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;(sorry Joslyn I have no idea how to stick your link in this post) Please check out Joslyn's posts here on Active Rain,too!&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="http://activerain.com/joslynpanka"&gt;http://activerain.com/joslynpanka&lt;/a&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;in the home of a wealthy family. &lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The family was rude and refused to let the angels &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;stay in the mansion's guest room. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Instead the angels were given a small space in &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;the cold basement. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;As they made their bed on the hard floor, the &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;When the younger angel asked why, the older angel &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;replied, &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;"Things aren't always what they seem." &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The next night the pair came to rest at the house &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;wife. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;After sharing what little food they had the couple &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;let the angels sleep in their bed where they could &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;have a good night's rest. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;When the sun came up the next morning the angels &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;found the farmer and his wife in tears &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;income, lay dead in the field. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The younger angel was infuriated and asked the &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;older angel how could you have let this happen? &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The first man had everything, yet you helped him, &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;she accused. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The second family had little but was willing to &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;share everything, and you let the cow die. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;"Things aren't always what they seem," the older &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;angel replied. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;wall. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and &lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;wall so he wouldn't find it." &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;br&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;the angel of death came for his wife. &lt;p&gt;Civil War&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In 1861, Chesterfield County was assured a prominent role in the Civil War. Its geographic proximity to Richmond, the capital of the Confederacy, combined with various railroads and the James and Appomattox rivers, made it an obvious target for the Union army and navy. In the spring of 1862, a Union naval fleet, led by the famous ironclad Monitor, steamed up the James River. All that stood in their way was the unfinished fort at Drewry&amp;sup1;s Bluff, just eight miles below Richmond. On May 15, Confederate guns in the fort fired on the Union ships. When the smoke cleared, the heavily damaged Union fleet was forced to retreat. Casualties were slight on both sides, and Chesterfield County would have a two-year reprieve before seeing action, again. Ulysses S. Grant took command of the Union army early in 1864, and in May, he planned strikes toward Richmond from several directions. The main Union army would approach from the north, while a smaller force, the Army of the James, would attack from the south by moving through Chesterfield County. On May 5, 1864, the Union army landed at Bermuda Hundred in eastern Chesterfield County and pushed inland. A series of battles took place at Port Walthall Junction, Swift Creek and Chester Station as Confederate troops desperately tried to block the approaches to Richmond. The climax of this campaign occurred on May 16, when the Confederates unexpectedly launched an attack that staggered the Union army and forced it to retreat back to Bermuda Hundred. This became known as the Second Battle of Drewry&amp;sup1;s Bluff. Combined casualties numbered about 6,200 during this campaign. In April 1865, the Petersburg front collapsed, forcing Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee to move his army westward toward Appomattox Court House, where he surrendered.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Chesterfield County's Seal&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Although English colonists began moving into the area within four years of Jamestown's founding in 1607, Chesterfield was not created as a political unit until 1749. Formed from the southern half of Henrico County, one of Virginia's several original shires, the new county took the name of the celebrated literateur and politician Philip Dormer Stanhope, Fourth Earl of Chesterfield.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In 1870, the first action of the first Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors was to direct a seal to be created, "to wit: a coal miner leaning on his pick under a pine tree with a flowing river at his feet." This was chosen as the County's Seal because it was the first place in the nation where coal was mined commercially.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As a result of the industrious labors of miners, other "firsts" occurred in Chesterfield: Midlothian Turnpike, the first paved road in Virginia, was built in 1807 to carry carts of coal; and in 1831, the first railroad, the Midlothian to Manchester Railroad, was built to haul coal to Virginia's ports.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Chesterfield straddles two major topographic regions. Most of the county lies in the Piedmont, a region of gently rolling hills stretching between the Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic coastal plain. The pine tree on the seal represents the timber associated with the rolling hills of the area.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Although Chesterfield is laced by streams, most are too narrow or shallow to use as waterways. The James and Appomattox Rivers, though, served as major commercial corridors from the first period of European settlement. Thus, the river depicted on the seal.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Water Country Usa  Williamsburg , Va.</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Last weekend we had a ball. We took the kids to Water Country in Williamsburg. They have so much to do there. Loads of water slides and 3-4 different kinds of kiddie pool areas. The food is actually really good, too!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We just packed our own lunch and drinks in a cooler though.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But , all in all , the kids and us had an absolute blast! Next time you are in the Williamsburg, Va area I highly recommend going! &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here are a few pictures we took there. &lt;strong&gt;Freedom&lt;/strong&gt;. Although you have a vote, the rules of the condo association can affect your ability to use your property. It might mean a little more money out of your pocket now, but much better than it&amp;nbsp;being a lot of money&amp;nbsp; later.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Consider comparables&lt;/strong&gt;. What have other homes in your neighborhood sold for recently? How do they compare to yours in terms of size, upkeep, and amenities?&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Consider competition&lt;/strong&gt;. How many other houses are for sale in your area? Are you competing against new homes?&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Consider your contingencies&lt;/strong&gt;. Do you have special concerns that would affect the price you'll receive? For example, do you want to be able to move in four months?&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Get an appraisal&lt;/strong&gt;. For a few hundred dollars, a qualified appraiser can give you an estimate of your home's value. Be sure to ask for a market-value appraisal. &lt;strong&gt;Ask a lender&lt;/strong&gt;. Since most buyers will need a mortgage, it's important that a home's sale price be in line with a lender's estimate of its value.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Be accurate&lt;/strong&gt;. Studies show that homes priced higher than 3 percent over the correct price take longer to sell.&lt;/li&gt;

      <title>WHAT IS APPRAISED VALUE ?</title>
      <description>&lt;h1&gt;What Is Appraised Value? &lt;/h1&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It's an objective opinion of value, but it's not an exact science so appraisals may differ.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For buying and selling purposes, appraisals are usually based on market value-what the property could probably be sold for. Other types of value include insurance value, replacement value, and assessed value for property tax purposes.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Appraised value is not a constant number.       <title>HIDDEN HOME DEFECTS TO WATCH FOR</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Hidden Home Defects to Watch For&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;No home is flawless, but certain physical problems can be expensive. Watch for:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Water leaks&lt;/strong&gt;. Look for stains on ceilings and near the baseboards, especially in basements or attics.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Shifting foundations&lt;/strong&gt;. Look for large cracks along the home's foundation.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;strong&gt;Drainage&lt;/strong&gt;. Look for standing water, either around the foundation of the home of in the yard.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

Homebuying is not only a big financial commitment, but also an emotional one. It's critical that the practitioner you choose is both skilled and a good fit with your personality.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;/h5&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Remember, there's no "right" time to buy, any more than there's a right time to sell. If you find a home now, don't try to second-guess the interest rates or the housing market by waiting. Changes don't usually occur fast enough to make that much difference in price, and a good home won't stay on the market long.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Don't ask for too many opinions. Even if you buy a new home, there will be some costs.
