Here's an advertising idea for real estate professionals who use Twitter: Pay local bloggers to syndicate your latest Tweets onto their website.
This should greatly expand the reach of your audience beyond the people currently following you on Twitter, help build your Twitter follwers, and reach truly local people with real time messages.
Here's how it can be done.
1: Create a twitter widget, then pay a local blogger to embed it into their site.
or
2: Have a local blogger running a Wordpress blog syndicate in the RSS feed of your Tweets using the KB Advanced RSS plugin. It's easy and free for the blogger to set things up, so it comes down to the value of access to their viewers.
To see this in action, check out the right column of my Minneapolis blog, The Deets. The ad from Common Roots cafe is actually their latest message sent out through Twitter. So you can update your ad at any time from your phone by sending in an update to Twitter.
What's this worth? That will vary based on the amount of traffic a blog receives and their demographics. In the case of The Deets, I currently price this type of ad at $100/month.
Pretty cool, eh?
