The Real Estate Investor "Gonna wait's..."

Everyone's life has some area of "Gonna do this some day."  In Real Esate Investment there are probably thousands of Gonna lines but these are some of my favorites:

• Gonna wait... for the prices to drop more.
• Gonna wait... for more tax credits and incentives.
• Gonna wait... for the stock market to go up.
• Gonna wait... for the elections.
• Gonna wait... to see what everybody else is "gonna" do.
• Gonna wait... for all the short sales to clear up.
• Gonna wait... for the Bank's to release their Shadow Inventory (sounds spooky)

Our history has shown over and over again, the "Gonna wait's" will eventually turn into "You know I shoulda's" some day soon.  They end up waiting and waiting until they miss the profitable investments.  They think others had more money, more advance notice or knew someone on the inside.  Some of these may be true but I think the biggest difference is they stopped waiting and started doing.

Slow or depressed economies have produced more successes than highly active good economies.  Investors (not speculators) research intelligently, make informed choices and think outside of the box.  They trust their instincts and learn from past mistakes.  They understand the old cliche, it's not how many times you fail, it's how many times you get up.  They do not fear!  They are not "Gonna's", they are "Do-er's".

Here's a short list of some of these Do-er's:

• Andrew Carnegie, Steel Industry
• Howard Hughes, Airlines
• J C Penney, Retail (opened first department store in middle of Great Depression)
• Joe Walton, Retail
• Ray Kroc, Food Industry
• Donald Trump, Real Estate
• Barbara Corcoran, Real Estate
• Bill Gates, Internet

I am not saying everyone has the potential to be on this list but I am saying everyone has the potential to do better in this economy.  Real Estate Investment property deals are being made by investor's seeing the potential of our market.  Using Realtor's experience and knowledge, they are making sound property investment decisions.  They are Do-ers!  The "Gonna's" are sitting on the sidelines watching the deals pass them by.  So get with an experienced  Realtor, make intelligent property investment choices and who knows, maybe we will see your name added to the above list.
