I watched the Kentucky Derby yesterday. The race was good, but, lacked drama; with the withdrawal of the favorite, Uncle Mo, the race lost the element that I feel is part of American culture, that is to watch greatness continue or to witness greatness fail.
Yesterday's race was an example of mediocrity, a race that any of the 19 contenders would win and that is not what heightens interest and creates drama within the casual sports observer.
