Today I had an appointment with a single mother of two who was excited about purchasing a home. She told me she had her 3.5% FHA down payment ready and all she needed was a pre-approval letter to buy a home for $140,000. She told me that she was a school teacher at Monterey Trail High School here in Elk Grove, CA. I then informed her that because she is a teacher in a California school district, she is automatically eligible for a CalSTRS 80/17 home loan.
