Long-term mortgage interest rates fell considerably Friday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield sank to 4.39 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average dropped to 5.96 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate sank to 5.57 percent. The 1-year adjustable held at 5.73 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield declined to 4.69 percent.
Rates and bonds are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Mortgage rate figures are according to Bankrate.com, which publishes nightly averages based on its survey of 4,000 banks in 50 states. Points on these mortgages range from … (0 comments)

Long-term mortgage interest rates were down again Thursday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield fell to 4.49 percent.
The 30-year fixed-rate average dipped to 6.03 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate sank to 5.65 percent. The 1-year adjustable fell slightly to 5.73 percent.
The 30-year Treasury bond yield dropped to 4.77 percent.
Rates and bonds are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Treasury Department endorses plan for new fund

Several major banks are working together to establish a multibillion-dollar investment fund intended to lessen the credit crunch by improving liquidity for mortgage securities and other investments.
The U.S. Department of Treasury facilitated discussions among the group of banks and investment managers, according to a Bank of America announcement today. Bank of America Corp., Citigroup Inc. and JP Morgan Chase & Co. are among the group of banks that are setting up the fund, which could be worth up to $100 billion, according to some reports.

Not Necessarily.......
Sorry to be so non-committal but it is true.  I have been fortunate in representing sellers who not only have lovely homes but they have good taste.  These sellers do not need a Stager.  Your Realtor may have some minor suggestions which can make a home marketable from a buyer's view.
I have also represented Sellers whose homes needed so much work that the best approach was to have them get the house clean but it would be too expensive and not practical to spend major resources.  Often times these homes are marketed "as is".  The price will reflect the condition.

Last week I did an analysis of the current Natick Real Estate Market.  One of the items on that analysis was the number of Active Single Family homes on the market in Natick.  The number was 126.
 So I thought it would be interesting to take a look at what that number was a year ago....are you ready?  It was 173.  That is a signifigant reduction in inventory.
As I recall from prior to 2006 the average inventory of single family homes in Natick was around 100. 
This is good news for sellers....less competition. But it is indicating that while we are not in … (1 comments)
