So after years of cursing developers I finally found out why new communities are left barren. I finally asked why. And simple as that my questions were answered. Even the most beautifully maintained maples that don't appear to be in the way of homes being built, still cause a problem for developers. Apparently the problem comes when they dig for water and sewer lines. They do not cause a problem above ground, but apparently their 20+ year old roots are the source of their demise.
