If you sell your property as a short sale one question clients ask me here in the Santa Clarita Valley is what happens to the shortage on my loan or loans? Do I owe the bank the difference?  Can they require me to pay or come after me later?  First I want to say there is NO SUCH THING in my opinion as EVERYTHING being the same on short sales.  The majority of the time they are transaction to transaction differences, BUT there are definite similarities and these are things we can count on.  In California the first good news is … (1 comments)

Incentives in short sales......Some banks catching on! - 07/15/11 11:58 AM
It appears that some lenders are really offering incentives on their short sales.  You have the Wells/Wachovia short sale which on the fast track program offer $5,000 (in most cases) to the seller and get you an approval in 72 hours (ususally).  Then you this Chase program on certain older Washington Mutual program giving sellers back as much as $20,000 ( I have seen) and then of course the HAFA program giving the $3,000 assistance to the seller.  
I am aware there are some other banks doing things, and I HEAR some others putting together or following the lead of others … (0 comments)
