Jefferson County Colorado is my main focus of business because I live here and grew up here. I have, however, worked in other counties but only if it is in the best interest of the client for me to do so. Otherwise, I will refer that client on to another agent. On my blog you will find useful links to parks, libraries, schools, rec centers, and more in the Jefferson County area. Also, I have added links for the motor vehicle division, Denver government, DIA, education in Colorado, and more.

Tid Bits About Arvada, Colorado!!!

The City of Arvada is a home rule municipality (is the statutory granting of powers from the central government of a state to government at national, regional or local level. It differs from federalism in that the powers devolved may be temporary and ultimately reside in central government, thus the state remains, de jure, unitary) located in Jefferson County and Adams County of the State of Colorado. Arvada is located 7 miles (11 kilometers) northwest of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. The United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Arvada was 103,966 in 2005, an increase of 1.77% since the 2000 census. Arvada is the eighth most populous city in the State of Colorado and the 241st most populous city in the United States.

The first documented gold discovery here occurred on June 22, 1850. A prospector headed for California, Lewis Ralston, dipped his gold pan into a stream. His return was a $5 gold nugget. In 1858, Ralston brought a group of prospectors back to the site of his first discovery. Farmers soon arrived in order to sell supplies to miners. The railroad was built through the area in 1870. The settlers, needing to establish a town so that the railroad stop could have a name, filed a town plat. The town was named Arvada after the brother-in-law of one of the settlers.

Arvada is northwest of nearby Denver, Colorado. By 2015, it may be the endpoint of the Gold Corridor in Denver's FasTracks commuter rail network depending on the final decisions of the transit board.

As of the census of 2000, there were 102,153 people, 39,019 households, and 27,742 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,207.6/km² (3,128.1/mi²). There were 39,733 housing units at an average density of 469.7/km² (1,216.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 91.04% White, 0.66% African American, 0.65% Native American, 2.17% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 3.08% from other races, and 2.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.82% of the population.

There were 39,019 households out of which 34.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.5% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.9% were non-families. 23.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.07.

In the city the population was spread out with 26.2% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 96.0 males.
Tid Bits About Jefferson County, Colorado

Jefferson County is the fourth most populous county of the State of Colorado. The United States Census Bureau estimates that the county population was 526,801 in 2005. The county seat is Golden and the most populous city is Lakewood. The Colorado state center of population is located in Jefferson County.

Located in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, northeast Jefferson County is part of the Denver Metropolitan Area. The major expressway Interstate 70 traverses Jefferson County from east-to-west, passing just south of the county seat of Golden. Jefferson County is a quite long county from north to south, following the Front Range.

A major employer in Jefferson County is the large Coors Brewing Company in Golden. Also, the state-supported Colorado School of Mines is located in Jefferson County, offering programs in mining and engineering.

Jefferson County was one of the original 17 counties created by the Territory of Colorado on 1861-11-01. Jefferson County took the name of predecessor Jefferson County of the extralegal Territory of Jefferson. Robert Williamson Steele, Governor of the Provisional Government of the Territory of Jefferson from 1859 to 1861, built his home in the county at Mount Vernon and later at Apex. Jefferson County and the Jefferson Territory were named for Thomas Jefferson, the principal author of the United States Declaration of Independence and the third President of the United States.

In 1908, the southern tip of Jefferson County was transferred to Park County, reducing Jefferson County to its present length of 54 miles (87 kilometers). Several annexations by the City and County of Denver and the 2001 consolidation of the City and County of Broomfield removed eastern portions of the county. The Columbine High School massacre occurred on 1999-04-20, in the Columbine Area of Jefferson County.

Jefferson County is often nicknamed Jeffco. The name Jeffco is incorporated in the official name of the North Jeffco Park and Recreation District, the Jeffco Business Center Metropolitan District No. 1, and several businesses located in Jefferson County. Jeffco is also incorporated in the unofficial monikers of many Jefferson County agencies. The Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport operated by Jefferson County was previously known as the Jeffco Airport.

Cities

Arvada (mostly)

Edgewater

Golden

Lakewood

Littleton (partially)

Westminster (partially)

Wheat Ridge

Towns

Bow Mar

Lakeside

Morrison

Mountain View

Superior (partially)

Unincorporated Census Designated Places

Applewood

Aspen Park

Columbine

Conifer

East Pleasant View

Evergreen

Genesee

Indian Hills

Ken Caryl

Kittredge

West Pleasant View
