This is a photo of Prince Street Subway Station tiles. Prince Street runs through the NoLIta neighborhood into Soho. Prince Street is one of our favorite streets in all of Manhattan. There are a lot of boutique shopping, restaurants and condominiums along Prince Street. Soho is a neighborhood with a name that is defined by its geographic borders. South of Houston Street, Soho is one of the most popular and desirable downtown Manhattan neighborhoods. nolita: NoLiTa-Trendy & Sassy Manhattan New York neighborhood - 11/16/11 11:47 AM
Nolita, an abbreviation for 'NOrth of Little ITAly, is a relatively new neighborhood. Once a part of Little Italy, in the mid-1990's the neighborhood was rebranded and the catchy name that stuck was Nolita, following the naming trend of its neighbors Soho(SOuth of HOuston Street), and Tribeca, (TRIangle BElow CAnal Street). Nolita, in the 1990's experienced a large influx of young urban professionals escaping the high rents of SoHo. This, in turn, inspired the blossoming of fancy boutiques and establishments along it's quaint cobblestone streets. With a new energy in the neighborhood, distinct from the old charm of Little Italy, NoLita was born. Currently considered (10 comments)
nolita: Cafe Habana in Nolita Manhattan New York - 11/06/11 09:33 PM
Nolita Manhattan- Must See! Cafe Habana is one of our favorite places to eat in Nolita. Whether for breakfast, lunch, dinner or brunch on the weekends I have enjoyed myself every time I have been there. My only caution with Cafe Habana is that don't go if you aren't prepared to wait for a table if you go at peak hours, especially brunch. We went this weekend for brunch and had a fantastic meal. I like to stop by when I have some time to spare in between appointments and sit down and get a cafe con leche.
