Last year the number of buyers for Palos Verdes real estate exceeded the number of sellers and inventory was very low creating multiple offer situations in many transactions. 2013 was a good year for Palos Verdes real estate with increases in all categories! 710 single family Palos Verdes homes sold in 2013 compared to 638 homes in 2012 - up 11%. 2013 average sales price for Palos Verdes homes was $1,443,903 compared to $1,349,211 in 2012 - an increase of 7%. Average price per square foot for Palos Verdes homes sold in 2013 was $526 compared to $471 in 2012 - an increase of 11.7%.

Once again Palos Verdes homes owners who are looking for assistance with their tax filings, are able to make appointments at the Peninsula Seniors Center for free help with tax preparation. This is an AARP Tax-Aide Program which has one-hour appointments that can be scheduled on Saturdays only from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning on February 1, 2014, and ending on April 12, 2014.

I love the relaxation of Afternoon Tea and Palos Verdes does not have any choice other than Trump National. I keep hoping that Terranea Resort will offer an Afternoon Tea but no response yet. Yesterday, I learned that L'Amonde Bakery on Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance offers freshly baked scones every day at 3:00 p.m. and I decided to have my own little Afternoon Tea. I purchased two scones (daily special was Lemon Lavender with lemon curd) and headed home to brew my own tea. On Friday, January 10, 2014, at 9:30 a.m., the Korean Friendhip Bell which sits peacefully on the knoll which extends from the San Pedro side of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, will be unveiled after being restored to its original luster. The repair work included resurfacing the bell and repairing and repainting the pavilion, with bell masters from South Korea traveling to San Pedro to do much of the detail work ensuring it would be authentic.
