August 2011 statistics for Palos Verdes real estate are better all categories. 68 Palos Verdes houses had pending sales in August 2011 compared to 63 homes in July. 58 single family Palos Verdes homes sold/closed escrow in August while 55 homes sold in July. Inventory of active Palos Verdes homes for sale was 278 for August 2011 continuing to fall from 286 homes in July which makes the market a little tighter for buyers. There were 24 homes on the July 19, 2011 Palos Verdes real estate Broker’s Tour. I only viewed four homes and my car’s emergency stabilization system locked down for some reason and I spent two hours waiting for a tow truck to take me to the dealership to have the car repaired and missed the rest of the tour.
Aside from the inconvenience of having an unexpected turn in my plans for the day, waiting in the sun for two hours for a tow was slightly uncomfortable (not happy with the towing service who kept promising to send a truck that never showed … (1 comments)

Palos Verdes homes owners may be interested in the new Trulia crime maps which was launched recently for 50 metropolitan areas including Los Angles County. My curiosity got the better of me and I had to have a look.
For zip code 90274 which includes Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills and Rolling Hills Estates, they show 3 recent crimes near Estate Lane and West Hidden Lane and 7 crimes near Basswood Avenue and Silver Spur Road – all were theft/burglary. Click here to continue reading...

Actually this is the highest number of pending sales in any one month since at least 2006. 41 single family Palos Verdes homes sold/closed escrow in April compared to 45 in March. Inventory continued to rise in April with 249 Palos Verdes houses for sale compared to 239 in March.
