BUT CAN EVERYONE PLEASE JUST TAKE A MIN: AND PRAY FOR A WONDERFUL BROTHERINLAW ( HIS NAME IS BRUCE W. ) THAT IS IN NEED OF PRAYER TO BE HEALED, FOR DOCTORS TO UNDERSTAND AND FIND WHAT IS GOING AND TO CONTINUE HELPING HIM. HE HAS BEEN THROUGH A HORRIBLE OPERATION A WEEK AGO, AND IN SERVERE PAIN, BOTH HIS LUNGS CALASPED THEN THEY FOUND A HOLE IN HIS STOMACH FROM AN MRI AND SURGERY AGAIN YESTERDAY FOR THAT, STILL IN PAIN AND THROUGH OUT THE NIGHT HE STOPPED BREATHING. HE IS BEING AIR LIFTED TO ROCKCHESTER AS I TYPE THIS. HE IS ONLY IN HIS 40'S WITH TWO BEAUTIFUL KIDS AND WIFE. I CAN'T THINK VERY STRAIGHT RIGHT NOW BUT I THINK ITS IN MATHEW THAT GOD SAID TO PRAY IN AGREEMENT, THAT IS WHY I AM PUTTING THIS OUT THERE IF WE CAN ALL AGREE AND PRAY PLEASE.

A professional home staging will be creative in using your own furniture and accessories. Most of the times there is no reason to rent furniture and create another expense. The ones that do need furniture and accessories are builders or home owners that have an empty home for sale. For those clients we offer the first month free.

There is no doubt that builders need to rent furniture to stage but if a home owner agrees new furniture is needed there are options as in:

Purchase new furniture and take it with you to your new home.
Rent option to purchase after you sell your home if you don't have the extra cash and take it with you.
You can purchase slip covers to cover your old furniture which becomes much less of an expense.
You can make your own slip covers if you have that gift of sewing

The point is there is a menu of ideas and services available for each individual clients home to be staged. Every individual clients needs are different from the other. I have never ran into two clients that their homes have been staged and they both had the same issues.

Some homes might need cabinetry work as in:

New cabinets but only complete that if you are planning to stay so you can enjoy it for awhile
Used cabinets- maybe a vanity needs to be replaced or you can purchased a number of cabinets at the AAHH ( Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity) that way more then one person will benefit. You the home owner and AAHH that is going to help that other person that needs a home.

Some homes might need counter tops as in:

new counter tops as in maybe granite but again only complete that if you are staying in the home to enjoy it for awhile.
re-mica your tops to a neutral color for staging in the kitchen and or vanities.
new mica- Did you know there is now mica that looks like granite?

Some might need trim work as in:

crown molding, chair rail or trim, if you are staying or not there is no doubt its an upgrade to enjoy

There are so many different options to help stage a home. Don't be afraid to make a call, and ask if we can come out to your home to ask all the questions you might have. Since every client has different needs that is why we can come out to your home to discuss those options. There is no way a professional stager can quote you a price over a phone or email.

We service you with all i mentioned above and more. We have no middle man so we save you money when it comes to custom cabinets, installing them, trim work, crown molding,counter tops etc. There are stagers out there that provide the same professional service as we do but if some cabinets need to be replaced, trim work done etc the chances of them being able to complete that for you and not have to hire another person ($$$$) are slim. 1. Grab them from the curb.
You've seen them. Buyers hunkered low in their cars in front of your house, doing drive-bys before deciding whether to request a showing or attend an open house. Make these potential buyers fall in love with your home from the street by adding potted plants and flowers, power-washing patios and walkways, weeding the garden and mowing the lawn. It's your first chance to make a good impression, so you've got to make it count.

2. Make it sparkle.
Pretend that your mother or mother-in-law is coming for a visit. Think hotel clean. Mop, dust, vacuum, wash windows, baseboards - even the cat. Remember that people will look in your cupboards, under your sinks and in your closets. Also, pay particular attention to odors. You might even consider consulting a neutral nose by having a friend come by for a smell test.

3. Pay attention to color and light.
You may love hot pink in the living room, but too-bright colors turn buyers off. Neutralize strong colors for the broadest appeal. A neutral home appears larger and has less chance of offending someone. Also, open up blinds and draperies to make sure there's sufficient natural light throughout the home. Remember, lighting is the most effective way to set a mood.

4. Depersonalize.
Few things deter buyers more than a cluttered home. They need to see your home, not your stuff. Excessive personal items like photos, collections, personal awards, electronics and collectibles will make it difficult for buyers to see past your personal style and may deter a sale. Taking yourself out of the picture makes it easier for buyers to imagine themselves, and their stuff, in your space.

5. Consider replacing furnishings.
Think about removing or replacing worn or outdated furnishings and get rid of extra pieces. The time has come to move beyond matching furniture, so break up your sets; dated can easily become eclectic with editing and rearranging. Consider consulting with a professional staging company for design direction and advice on rental furnishings to create an inviting home with broad appeal to a wide range of buyers.

6. Invest in new artwork.
Displaying new artwork is a great way to breathe new life into a room. Photography can be used to contemporize a room and add a splash of color as well.

7. Make repairs.
Make your home a high-maintenance zone. Repair squeaky doors, chipped or smudged paint as well as broken fixtures and fittings that you've neglected.

Not only can an area rug hide shabby flooring, but it can also bring in added color and depth to a space.

8. Apply a fresh coat of paint.
It's the best bang for your buck that will quickly refresh a dull, dated room. Slap a fresh, neutral color on the space. Choose a beige or taupe for living spaces and a neutral green or blue for bathrooms.

9. Don't forget the floors.
Get rid of worn carpets, and consider refinishing shabby hardwood floors. An inexpensive new area rug is a quick fix and can disguise the look of old floors.

10. Spring for new light fixtures.
Renew the look of the room by replacing old or dated light fixtures, door hardware, light switches and outlets. If it's tacky and older than you, get it out of there.

SPRING TIME, AND HOME STAGING, FIRST IMPRESSION COUNTS

It is that time of year. Here are a few tips to remember to help you for the outside of the home if its being considered to be put on the market. First impression begins the second they pull up in your drive way.

The things that a buyer notices:

DECKS- Does it need to be pressured washed,repaired or painted

DRIVEWAY-Does it have stains from car oil or does it need to be repaired from cracks. Also be sure the driveway is cleared of all vehicles so the agent and the buyer can pull right up.

FENCING-Does it need repair or painting.

GARAGE- Does it need to be cleaned out with boxes etc. we always especially in the winter time use it for storage.

HOUSE- Does the house need a fresh paint job, or any repairs on the outside of the house.

LANDSCAPING-Make sure the flowers are not dead or consider planting flowers. Be sure bushes are trimmed. Becareful with to many bushes. Some people have a line of bushes to mark they property line however that can be a turn off because they might consider that to much work to maintain. If you have trees be sure they are trimmed down. could you use some mulch with color.

LAWN- make sure your grass looks healthy and has nice color to it. no dead spots -k check to make sure you don't have weeds.

Neighbors- Something some don't consider but check with your neighbors and make sure they are not planning on have a huge birthday, pool party during your open house. We all have them but while selling and showing your home you don't want to give the wrong impression of wild neighbors. Another thing is something we can't control but for some you might be able to ask your neighbors to clean up their yard by suggestingto have a barbbarcue block clean up day instead of asking them direct where they can be offended. Buyers do consider neighbors and their appearance of their yard when considering in buying your home.

PET DOO-Pick up from the yard if you have a pets. Be sure your pets are not greeting them at the front door or gate. Not every one likes pets and or can be allergic to them. Its always a good idea to have them removed from the house for showings and put away any evidence of pets living in the house.

ROOF- Be sure your shingles or whatever type of roofing your home has is up to par and not missing any shingles etc.

WINDOWS-Be sure all your windows sparkling clean.

i KNOW THIS IS A LONG LETTER BUT I WAS GOING THROUGH MY FRIENDS CHRIS FISHER GROUPS AND I JOINED THIS ONE BECAUSE ITS SO ME. I LOVE LOVE. I LOVE TO LOVE PEOPLE, LIFE, FRIENDS ETC. I AM POSTING THIS LETTER THAT MY HUSBAND ASK ME TO PUT ON HERE. HE TOLD ME HE ENTERED MY STORY IN SOME CONTEST NAMED HOW MUCH DO YOU CARE SOMETHING LIKE THAT. HE WANTED ME TO SHARE IT WITH ALL OF YOU .

i have to say i am not surprised at my wife's actions when her mother died and she took in her father and handicap brother that is TOTAL care. she died in 2003. her and i were going to cancer treatment together i made it she didn't. : ( the social worker in hospice looked at my wife and said walk away and let the system take over your brother. its was to much for you to take on. she told that social worker no way, we lost our brother, mother and all we have is dad. no way am i going to walk away. i was not raised that way. you see her handicap brother is total care. he is artistic, blind, mentally retarded, mute, handicap foot, needs to be spoon feed his meals and drinks, bathe, etc. he can't do much for himself but he does know his sister very well. she went from working full time to have insurance for the family especially for me because of my own cancer to part time. in time she had to leave her job because taking care of her brother was a full time job. well 11/2 yr later her father died in a car accident. he van rolled over 4 times and left him paralyzed from the neck down. he had a heart attack while driving on the highway. now her brother is on her hands. her other brother had died of aids in 1990. she is the only one left to help him. she said in tears bring it on. she took this grown man in age only at 53 yrs old and taught him how to sit still and not fear a wheel chair ride by taking him out every day on in for a walk in the neighborhood. she cooked for him his special meals every day. when she had errands to run guess what she took him every where. you have to understand her parents never took him anywhere because people stared at him and her parents didn't like that. my wife didn't care. she said bring it on. she touched him for the first time with hugs and kisses by putting him on meds to calm him down and not be so protective of himself and taught him you can trust me. this kid his entire life only knew his mother. when she died my wife and her dad walked in the room to tell him, not knowing if he understood since he is mentally retarded, well guess what. he did he made a phist with his hand and placed it by his heart. they both fell to their knees in tears and shocked. this man didn't eat solid food for 8 months. brought him to the doctor for months trying to find meds for him that gave him appetite. finally 8 months later he took a bite but until then he survived on high cal drinks, milk shakes etc. no food what so ever. i remember when she whispered in his ear to him i love you jr. i am still here and i am not leaving you.. that to put tears in my eyes.
she even told me she loved me dearly but if i wanted to leave her because of all this she would understand. she told me right now my brother needs me more then ever. you, the kids can survive without me but my brother needs me right now. i wasn't going any where. i was so touched and proud of my wife and all this made me just love her even more. two almost three yrs later she said i need help. not that we the family didn't help her don't get me wrong but she didn't want to put anymore stress on us so she decided to sell the house in fla and move to NC. she took on a job with the police dept and left me andthe twins during their senior yr. she missed out on that that can never be replaced, she missed out on their prom night etc. she cried but also was focused on a mission to find the right place for him. she sold the house in fla nd foundone in NC. She found a wonderful social worker that also helped her. to the endof this wonderful touching story of life she found placement for him and its just 2 exits away from her new home. she won't leave him and picks him up and visits him. the first yr was not easy for her because this was new for him, for her and the staff. but after the first yr it was all down hill. she is extremely happy with the facility thou she has made her mark there with theStaff and may i add don't mess with her brother.. funny i remember the staff telling her they are not used to family being around. most families drop them off and you never see them again and the ones you do see come for holidays. she told them well get used to me because i am not going any where. trust me if something happens to her brother the staff goes oh no she is going to go through the roof. lol.... nothing serious has ever happened but as i said she made her mark there of who she is meaning she is a wonderful advocate for him. if you were to ask her now why did you place him there. she would tell you i wouldn't if i was a bit younger, and if i was rich and not have to work, but the main reason i did it which broke her heart at first was because she said she had to think of his future if something was to happen to him there is no one left to take over and she doesn't expect anyone to either. she also said i can now die in peace and know he is in good hands. to end this this story IT reminds me of a song way back then called " he ain't heavy, hes my brother". how perfect is that song for her.

5 Simple Ways to Prevent Animal Cruelty ByPetside Team| March 31, 2009 10:04 AM

April is Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month, but there are simple things you can do every day of the year to prevent cruelty. In just minutes, you can help save pets from abuse and make a difference in your community.

1. Speak for animals

Animals can't speak up when they are being abused, so when you see something, say something. If you witness an act of animal cruelty in your neighborhood, contact the authorities immediately. Report the incident to your local police department, animal control or humane society. Animal cruelty, neglect and abuse is illegal in every state in the nation under the Animal Welfare Act.

2. Teach children to respect animals

Be a role model to your children and show them how to properly take care of and handle animals. To reach even more kids, talk to your children's school or neighborhood community center and see if you can arrange an assembly on responsible pet ownership. Respecting animals needs to start young because acts of violence towards pets can sometimes be an indicator of violence towards people later in life.

3. Vote!

Put politicians in office that support animal protection legislation. Check out candidates' websites or call their headquarters and find out how they plan to help protect pets in your area. You can also write to your current representatives and ask them to support laws that increase punishment for animal abusers or increase the number animal control officers.

4. Say NO to puppy mills

Puppy mills are a horrible reality of the pet industry. Refuse to buy pets or supplies from any store or website that sell animals. While you may think buying a puppy mill pet is saving an animal, it is only encouraging these mills to stay in business by keeping up the demand for their product. Only adopt from shelters or buy from reputable breeders and tell your friends to do the same.

5. Volunteer or donate

Volunteer your time and talents to a worthy cause. Even a few hours a week holding and petting animals at a shelter increases their chance of being adopted by making them more people friendly. If you are a writer, offer to help write the newsletter or lend your design skills to their website and advertisements. If you don't have the time to volunteer, you can still make a difference by donating to an animal rights organization
