Two or three years ago it was common knowledge that the real estate market wasn't going to recover until 2011. Last year, the common knowledge expectation was extended to 2012. Earlier this year, we were hearing 2014 and most recently, some experts have stated that they don't expect the real estate market to recover until 2015 or beyond. A popular strategy that's been used by homeowners thinking about selling their homes has been to wait a couple of years until they market improves and they can get a better price. After reaching a high of approximately 14,000 in 2007, values plummeted to about 6,500 in 2009. During the last 24 months, the Dow has regained most of the value it had lost. It wasn't obvious that the bottom had been reached until there had been a significant increase in value. Most experts didn't expect to rebound so quickly.
