According to FAR (Florida Association of Realtors) Florida single family existing home sales rose in July for the first time in more than 2 years! it's actually only six (yes, that's 6 more) homes than July of 2007, but that's enough to indicate a hint of stabilization.
This is big news because the last time this happened was at the end of the year in 2005.
Now, the good news for buyers is even though we're starting to stabilize, the median sales price from a year ago is down 19%. There are a multitude of foreclosures available as well as "short … (1 comments)

According to U.S. Census figures released today (June 28, 2007) Port St. Lucie, on the east coast of Florida, is ranked as the third fastest growing city in the United States with 12,909 new residents between July 2005 and July 2006. While this is down from the #1 spot for 2003-2004 and the #2 spot for 2002-2003, it is still good news for this area. Here in Florida and other areas along the Eastern coastline, "Hurricane Season" (June 1st - November 30th) is fast approaching. The American Red Cross has put together an informative piece on preparing for hurricane season in 12 days.
Also, From June 1 through June 12, Floridians can save while preparing themselves for the 2007 Hurricane Season. Florida's Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Exemption will allow individuals and families an opportunity to purchase certain disaster preparedness supplies without paying sales tax.
