I closed a short sale in Elk Grove yesterday and a short sale in Lincoln the day before that. There is something odd about both of these Sacramento short sales. something they both share in common. Both of these homes have a ton of upgrades that were not reflected in the sales price. Stuff the original sellers paid through the nose to get when they bought. Because upgrades is where the money is for builders.

One of the perks agents get who work at Lyon Real Estate is our office assistants input our listings to MLS. These hard-working people make sure we comply with all the new rules and regulations of MLS, so we don't violate anything and get fined. If I need to make changes to the marketing comments, for example, I need only to email my staff and they update the listing.

At the last minute yesterday, my husband and I called our petsitter, loaded up the car and hit the road. I would tell you about my new short sale listing in Cameron Park from yesterday morning, but that will have to wait. So, guess where we went? This photo is a clue.

 
Here is another landmark or else it is our floating hotel on the water. Hard to say.

I wish I had photo correcting software on this crummy laptop but I do not. It would take out some of those shadows.

In this business, if your Monday is brutal, Tuesday is likely to be ten times worse. That seems to be a given. I keep thinking that the real estate business will slow down in Sacramento, but it's only getting more hectic. This week alone I believe I am taking 5 new listings, and that's just the ones I know about at the moment. But I'm fortunate to have closed so many transactions this year that my inventory has room to grow, thank goodness, and I still have enough lockboxes in the trunk of my car to handle the growth.
