There are days I suspect I'd be better off if I did not answer my phone. I know I'd get more work done instead of pacing the floor as I speak. I can't just sit in my chair and talk. I don't know why.
I must be mobile and moving. It helps me to focus. Or, maybe it's just my passion for Sacramento short sales coupled with the injustice I see in banking corporate systems -- the way they treat their customers -- that causes the need for constant movement when talking.

It seems like forever since we've sealed off the dining room and living room from the rest of our house. The pass-through window between the kitchen and living room has a sheet of plastic taped over it, and the other 3 doors are closed, much to the dismay of our cats. You know how cats are, right? Always sticking their little paws under the door and pulling. A shut door to a cat is a slap in the face.

My associate, Rose Mary Swart, invited me to lunch at The Firehouse Restaurant in Old Sacramento. That's Rose Mary, on the left. I don't know who she is sitting next to. OK, it's me. Rose Mary says she loves to celebrate the beginning of fall by doing lunch in the tree-canopied courtyard of the Firehouse Restaurant, and this may very well become a tradition with me, too.
Out of all the dining areas at The Firehouse, the courtyard is my favorite. The biggest problem during autumn is keeping the little tiny seeds that fall from the trees off your table. … (22 comments)
