worcation hawaii: Back From Hawaii = Jumping Into Sacramento Real Estate - 01/15/17 11:47 AM
Some activities in Sacramento real estate could be put on the back burner on simmer while I was in Hawaii for 6 weeks, but other stuff required immediate attention. Like when people needed to go on the market and sell right away, I made that happen, if it it meant I would be spending less time on the beach reading. Speaking of which, I spent time with Patty Hearst on the Big Island, then on to Linda Thompson in Maui, and enjoyed an interesting read with Bruce Springsteen on my way home, all tempered with the on-going antics of John McPhee … (2 comments)

worcation hawaii: Selling Sacramento Real Estate While on Vacation - 12/28/16 09:29 AM
There are many agents who take a holiday in December and don't look back at their business. They pass it off on another agent in their office or maybe they don't have any new or old business to contend with when away. Not every agent is a top producer.
Some agents are very happy selling a house every now and then and don't feel compelled (like this Sacramento Realtor) to turnover 1 to 2 houses a week. Nothing wrong with no desire to put your pedal to the metal, but I would go stir crazy if I didn't have a million … (4 comments)

worcation hawaii: Mi's Bistro in Kona Lets You Come As You Are - 12/27/16 10:09 AM
Hard to say if it was the excellent company (having my husband join me in Hawaii for Christmas) or the location on the ocean, or the marvelous food or my glass of pinot that made dinner so delightful. Or maybe just the fact I found a suitable parking place and didn't have to circle the area over and over like a hamster on a wheel.
I especially enjoyed not fussing with myself to go out to dinner. We women tend to fusss too much. There is the hair I did not brush, the makeup I did not wear, and the dress … (9 comments)

worcation hawaii: How About Learning to Play Those Hawaiian Ukuleles? - 12/26/16 10:53 AM
You can't swing a dead cat in Hawaii without hitting a ukulele player. Oh, where did that expression come from anyway, it's such a horrible thing to say. But I use it because it's amusing, not because I would ever throw a dead cat much less want to watch somebody else do it. The point is the ukulele is a popular instrument, and almost everywhere I go in Hawaii, I hear a musician playing this instrument.
Fat, skinny; old, young; male, female; doesn't matter. Every ukulele is different. Tones and pitch varies. You can pay $100 or $10,000 or more. Go ahead, … (14 comments)

worcation hawaii: New Listing in Elk Grove Can Quickly Close - 12/23/16 10:20 AM
The sellers contacted me a while back, upset with their existing agent for reasons I didn't fully catch, but the reasons do not matter because I'm not the sort of agent who upsets her clients. Whatever the reason as to why the seller wanted to cancel the listing with his existing agent is really none of my business. It makes no difference regarding how I will list and sell a home in Elk Grove. I have my own way of doing things.
I saw the home was withdrawn from MLS a few days ago, so I called the seller. Looking out at … (5 comments)
