Deukmejian Wilderness Park in Glendale California - 01/30/09 12:51 PM
It was one of those crystal clear blue sky white puffy cloud days that are so rare in Southern California. I had been diligently working all day at my computer trying to drum up real estate business when I decided to go out and enjoy one of Glendale and La Crescenta's best parks. I took my camera and my lunch and drove up to Deukmjian Wilderness Park.
This huge park has a historical stone barn that was built from 1914-1918 and is currently under a restoration adaptive resuse plan adopted by the city of Glendale. The site was aquired in 1898 … (2 comments)

Personal Touch-Handwritten Notes to SOI - 01/06/09 11:42 PM
I am wondering if anyone else out there has had success with writing notes to their sphere? I mean real hand written notes that let them know I am thinking about them. Not the kind that you farm out to others to do or the type like send-out-cards where they copy your handwriting into a font. As we begin the new year, it is time to take time to reflect on what to do for more balance in our lives. One way that might be beneficial is to take advantage of your neighborhood parks. We have been through a lot this past year, but take a look at the video below to remind yourself of how far we have come. We have been through many difficult times as a country and seen good times and bad.  This has been a challenging year for us all, but as we look ahead to the future, I thought it might be illustrative to review this video to get some perspective. With that, I wish everyone a wonderful year ahead! I spent new years eve in the company of a wonderful woman named Rosa Johnson, who is 98 years … (3 comments)

New protection for "foreclosure" pets in California as of Today - 01/01/09 09:16 PM
As the number of foreclosed properties increases in the Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena area, so too, does the number of abandoned animals
In response to this continuing trend, California Assemblyman Mark Desaulnier,D-Concord, introduced Assembly Bill 2949 this year calling for real estate agents, landlords and property managers to take responsibility for those abandoned pets.  As of today, (Jan 1, 2009) the law is now in effect. It states, "any person or private entity with whom a live animal has been 'involuntarily deposited' must take charge of it."
The previous law inhibited people (real estate agents or banks) from taking any action when … (4 comments)
