Why I love Dover New Hampshire; Reason #19, Hilton Park

One of the greatest things about Dover New Hampshire is it's wonderful park and recreation.  Located in the southern part of Dover New Hampshire,  Just off Dover Point Road is Hilton Park.  Hilton Park is a beautiful historic state park on the Piscataqua River, offering a playground, picnic area, boat launch, and grills.
There are tow bridges spanning the entire length of the park.    Being one of the most historic parts of Dover, this is a great spot for tourist, or those new to the area to get a feel of the beauty of Dover.  Most people, like myself tend to pass the park on a daily commute and never stop to enjoy the beauty of the park.
I was fortunate enough to work at a local restaurant throughout high school. When I was given a 1 hour break everyday, I would travel to Hilton park, most of the time on foot, to sit and enjoy my lunch and take in the beautiful views.  From there I was able to watch the boats launching from the boat launch, the fishermen and kids fishing from the pier.   There are several picnic tables and grassy spots to sit and enjoy a bite to ... more
