Attention Animal Lovers - Please Help Support the Anti-Tethering Bill

As a supporter of the American Humane Association,I urge you to support Assembly Bill 3803.

Introduced by Assemblyman Anthony Chiappone, Assembly Bill 3803 is acritically important initiative that addresses the cruelty and dangerof excessively tethering dogs.Just last April, a 9-year-old Camden boy was mauled so badly by atethered dog that he required hospitalization and more than 100stitches. Yet despite its tragic impact on local communities, excessivetethering of dogs remains an overlooked social issue which is rarelyeven investigated in New Jersey.AB 3803 will limit the amount of time dogs can be tethered in a 24-hourperiod (prohibiting tethering between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. or for morethan one hour outside of those times.) This will give animal controlofficers the solid parameters they need in order to respond tocomplaints of animal abuse.This is a moderate bill. AB 3803 allows dogs to be tethered in order toprotect the dog or a person, and to conduct law enforcement, veterinarytreatment, grooming and training activities.I urge you to support this bill.Please vote for AB 3803.
