Cambridge Lutheran #1 Wins Season Finale to Clinch First Place
Cambridge Lutheran #1 wins tonight 17-11 at Grace Maple Ridge to end the season at 12-2, regular season champs.  Now they await the league meeting tomorrow night to see if they will be welcomed back to the tournament.
The bats were cold early as the team compiled only 2 hits and 2 runs through 4 innings and trailed 5-2.  The first 8 batters reached in the 5th inning and 6 runs total scored to ease the tension with the 6-5 lead.  Another huge inning in the 6th, 8 runs scored, all with two outs put the score at 16-5.  Some bad defense allowed 6 runs back in the bottom of the inning to tighten the score at 16-11.  One more run scored with 2 outs in the 7th and CLC #1 closed out the game winning 17-11.
Greg Doom and Rob Willits lead the team in hitting with 3 of 5 nights at the plate.  The team was without there top two hitters on the season as Josh Norby was on vacation and Chris Goebel was at science fair. I continued my second half of the season slump going 1 for 3 with a walk.
