Junior League of Charleston's Whale of a Sale
This is my most favorite sale of the year!  I look forward to Whale of a Sale every single year, and always walk away with tons of stuff for not that much money.
So what is this "Whale of a Sale" that I'm talking about?
Well, it's only Charleston's largest garage sale and a fundraiser for the Junior League of Charleston!
This year is the League's 35th annual sale, and it will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at the Gaillard Auditorium Exhibition Hall from 8am to 1pm and is open to the public with free admission.
"In addition to being the League's primary fundraiser, The Whale is also a community service," said B.V. Messervy, who will chair the event this year. "We make quality items affordable for those on limited budgets. And by holding the sale just before the holidays, we help people stretch their holiday budgets and reduce the debt generated by holiday spending."
An additional community service component this year will be a "Coats for Kids" drivein which every child under age 14 who attends the Whale on November 7th will receive a free coat while supplies last. "We've already started receiving coat donations from our members, and we will ... more
